School was always looked upon as something bad by students , like they were being in prisoned to learning this that they believed they wouldn't need in the future . But those students who believed otherwise, were looked down upon by the other students that believed in the idea that school was a bad thing .
(Y/N) rushes down the hallways, holding their scetchbook closely to their chest, as they tried to push past all of the older students that spent their time walking down the hallways to their next lessons.
Art was always (Y/N)'s preferred subject , the partial freedom to draw what you wished - if the whole thing wasn't themed- and the idea of working with hands was always interesting . Charcoal they found the most interesting to work with , how you could blend tones easily, how they could create sharper edges than most pencils could create with the help of masking tape and the idea of being able to easily create smoke without any struggle . The whole concept of art for them was just blissful .
However, there was the one downside to the lesson, the way to the actual class. They had to cut through a hallway in which always contained people from years above them, picking on the first art student they manage to trip up or one that catches their gazes. It's a daunting thing for any of the younger years to pass through as it could be any of them that get chosen by the older years to get picked on.
However, Lady Luck just decided that they weren't on (Y/N)'s side today as they passed through in a rush and accidentally made eye contact with one of the so-called leaders of the group .
"What's this then?" A large hand suddenly grabbed onto (Y/N)'s art book as they abruptly stopped to make sure that the person didn't tear up the actual book or do anything bad to it, "Bit messy isn't it?"
(Y/N) looked up to the taller boy with raven black hair and a small bit of stubble begging to grow on his face . Lewis Brindley , the so called leader of the group, always in trouble for one reason or the other bit surprisingly enough he never got kicked out.
It was Chris Lovasz to grab it next and quickly flip through it with a wide smirk across his face, he then turned to Mark Turpin and Simon Lane, trying to get everyone involved, " Hey Is' you got your lighter on you? We could improve this and give it a nice spark of life," He then flipped the book upside down with a snide smirk on his face ," Actually this page seems to be falling out ," (Y/N) quietly watched as he began to pull at the page falling out until he was abruptly interrupted and (Y/N)'s vision blocked by on of the other lads standing in front of them.
"Lovasz, what do you think you're doing?"

Paul Sykes, always wore a beanie, kept to himself mostly but got into trouble every now and again but it was never something serious enough to get him kicked out . Although he was out of school last week for some odd reason and never came in once.
(Y/N) watched as Paul carefully took the book from Chris and could sense the tension amongst the group instantly, " What was you planning on doing to (Y/N)'s book may I ask?"
(Y/N) froze on the spot completely . They never knew that Paul knew that they existed let alone their name .
"W-We'll you see," Chris stammered rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly ," I- uh- only wanted to help them out with their work and improve it, I-I wasn't planning on damaging it"
Paul narrowed his eyes at Chris, "I better not catch you doing this again," Paul spat at Chris, digging his index finger into his chest as he turned to look at the other momentarily, " As well as you lot otherwise there will be consequences"
Paul turned around to see a somewhat dazed (Y/N) and chuckled lightly to himself as he draped his arm over their shoulder and began to walk them out.
"I apologise for that," Paul suddenly commented, the book still in his hand as he walked with his hand still draped over (Y/N)'s shoulder as they were out of sight of the others, "Must've startled you"
"How do you," (Y/N) paused for a moment, thinking of a way to put their words, " How do you know my name exactly ?"
Paul chuckled to himself, "If I told you exactly how I found out your name (Y/N) you'd think I was a creep so for now we will stick to the idea of the unknown yeah?" Paul smiled down at them, squeezing their shoulder reassuringly as he looked back up to see where he was going, "My name is Paul Sykes by the way"
"I know," (Y/N) quietly said, looking down at the ground as two girls passed them giving strange looks to the two, " Everyone knows who you are , especially with the talk that was happening last week with your sudden disappearance"
Paul sighed as he stopped just before (Y/N)'s class, making them stop with him also, " Between me and you , because I trust you won't tell anyone, I was off last week because I got suspended, kinda lost my temper and let it out on Alex Smith, Ross Hornby and Chris Trott ," Paul narrowed his eyes slightly as to help him recollect the names of the people instead of the nicknames they gave each other, " Oh, your book," Paul slowly handed over the book and walked (Y/N) to the door before stopping to lean on the door frame and carefully held (Y/N)'s hand which confused them completely as to what was actually happening, " I'll um, see you when I next see you (Y/N)"
Paul smiled at (Y/N) as he released their hand and made his way back to the other lads quietly leaving (Y/N) in a completely confused state as all of the other art students circled them asking what happened and why they were holding hands with the Paul Sykes.
