I continued to read his letter.

I'll take AJ off your hands for you and deliver him to a good friend in Prescott. I can have his son take AJ down to Georgia. We've nicknamed the base the "McCaroll Ranch". We split our group in half around a year ago, when they decided to rebuild the place to secure it. I've got news that they've successfully built a working system down there. I'll be back down to the camp as soon as possible when we're done with this storage area.

We don't have to worry about him anymore,
Dr. Lingard

Under this letter, was a map to the ranch they were talking about.

It seemed that the destination was in the town that was circled. It read MACON in big, bolded letters on the map and was a town in the state of Georgia.

I tried to remember the map that Javi handed Clem.

This map was clearly different from the one I saw Javi give to Clem

This map was clearly different from the one I saw Javi give to Clem. Javi had mistakenly told Clem that the McCaroll Ranch was north of New Richmond with it was clearly south on the map.

Maybe he was confused? Did someone purposely send Clem the wrong directions? Where is she even headed?

The rest of the drawers had nothing of value to me except this pen. I could use it on the notebook I took.

I looked at a pocket watch that Kate gave me. It read 6:00 am. I couldn't stand here and waste any more time.

Just a few hours ago I was asleep and now I'm breaking out of New Richmond.

I took what I had and left, even one of the candles. I thought it'd be useful on our rescue mission. I had one last question on my mind.

How was I going to catch up to Clem? I knew what way she went and Javi told her to continue to follow the road. She wouldn't have strayed far from the road. All I had to do was catch up to her.

I had an idea.

10 minutes later
--------------------

I finally reached it. Lockers were lined up on the walls. The garage door was still left open from when my dad attacked Javi and tried to escape with me. I remembered everything that happened that day.

That memory emotionally scarred me. I didn't know what to do, or even what side to be on. I acted horribly to Clem. I told her I was leaving with my dad and she couldn't stop me.

I regretted it. I know things between us are mutual as of right now, but I still felt bad for my actions that happened that day. She saved me. Now it was my turn to repay her.

I ran down to the scene of the crash. This part of New Richmond was completely untouched or rebuilt. No one came near this area. And because no one ever rebuilt it, everything was still here, still same from the day everything changed.

I took a glimpse at the crash scene... there was nothing else to say. It was horrible.

I wandered over to the left to find Clem's motorcycle nearby the crash scene. Instead of wasting time and staring at the crash scene, I took the motorcycle, with the keys in it, turned on the engine, and headed back.

As I drove back to the garage, I saw the alleyway where my dad left us just 12 days ago. He walked through that hole in the wall and just disappeared.

He didn't want to face his actions or speak to Kate or Javi again. I didn't want to be like my dad, but I can say I did inherit his hot temper.

I inched the motorcycle closer to the hole in the wall to find something quite shiny near the exit.
