Jonah | Pickles
Other

Jonah was lying in his bed staring at the ceiling. Today he would finally meet her. The girl whose identify had been concealed for so long. After they had gotten used to calling and messaging each other every day, he would anticipate hearing her soft, happy voice and it would instantly put a big smile on his face. The way she said JJ or the way she laughed would make him feel... happy. Happy wasn't the word though. It was euphoria. He felt like he had just won a massive prize or just made someone feel better. It was the happy that made you feel like you could take on the world. Appearances didn't matter because he had fallen in love with her personality. He had fallen in love.

"Love." he whispered feeling how the word sounded in his mouth. It felt foreign as he wasn't really interested until now. Yes, girls had caught his eye but there was that one person that was special to him and that was her. Years ago, he used to think it was someone else but it wasn't. He knew for sure.

Jonah rolled over to face the window.

Thinking all these thoughts were nice but what if she didn't feel the same way? What if she only saw him as a friend? He decided that it was best not to mention his feelings because there was always the chance that she wouldn't return them and he wasn't exactly good at describing his feelings either.

Sighing, Jonah got up and headed to the bathroom to take a shower. The over thinking would have to wait because today, he was finally going to meet her.

Pickles was sitting on her windowsill seat with her legs dangling over the edge. She looked at Soho, which was beginning to wake up and start to come to life. People clad in suits rushed down the streets to their destination while talking over the phone. She could see a teenage boy struggling with walking his rather excited Yorkshire Terrier.

Pickles smiled at this. This was normal. This was home and just looking out of the window before a big event or something of that sort calmed her down and today, she was going to meet JJ. She would know his real name and his identity would be uncloaked. She had instantly like the teenage boy that had accidentally called her, mistaking her for a company that sold pickled onions and when he had called her to apologise for being a nuisance, she wanted to get to know him better. She didn't know what made her feel like that but as the calls and texts continued, she found herself eagerly waiting for his calls. Over the span of a few months, she had grown to love the comforting, deep voice of his and slowly, even though she was too scared to admit it, fall in love with him. She had never been in a relationship because she was scared of being heartbroken. Her love life was going to be like a Wattpad book was it?

Either way, she loved him but there was a massive chance that those feelings of his wouldn't be returned. They would be saved for someone else. The thought of bring "just friends" with him was slightly terrifying because if they met, her feelings would most probably intensify and eventually break her heart.

Shaking her head, she swung her legs back into her room and got down from the windowsill. Today, there was no time to worry, she would go and meet him.

Jonah was standing at the kitchen cupboard after brushing his teeth and having a shower. He didn't know if he wanted to have Coco Pops (he was still a kid at heart) or Cheerios. As his gravitated towards the box of Coco Pops, Sera walked into the room humming.
