"Anna-" Cecilia got cut off as she finally caught up to her friend, and fell silent. Before her, was an open field filled with dead and withering plants. Trees were touched by fire and the once beautiful flowers were now rotting away.
A glance at Annabelle told her that this was getting dangerous, and she quickly stepped towards her, grabbing her shoulders in an attempt to snap her out of her shock.
"Let's go, Anna. It's okay, there must be a reason behind this."
For a moment, it seemed as if she was calming down, but she was wrong. Instead of calming down, she wringed herself out of Cecilia's arms and ran towards the center of what seemed the very definition of despair.
She fell on her knees and let out a sound that seemed to be a choked up sob. A green light came from the spots Annabelle's skin touched the ground, and before long, the field was enveloped in light.
