The blindfold got ripped away from his eyes, and Julian squinted as light filled his vision. His arms were tied together on the back of the chair he sat on. When his vision adjusted to the light, he noticed a man sitting on a comfortable chair in front of him.

"Where am I?" Julian asked the man.

"You're inside one of the Ministry's interrogation rooms. Multiple patrols have notified me of your existence in this world. You're not in our register."

Julian sighed in relief. At least he hadn't been abducted by a criminal organization."I can explain that. I was working on a new transportation spell. Something must've gone wrong because, at some point, I found myself here. My spell seemed successful at first, but it seems the people in this world possess less magic."

The man leaned forward in his chair, "less magic, you say? Are you implying the people from your world have more magic?"

Julian nodded, "it seems so. The people I've observed have only displayed limited magic. In my world, however, everyone can cast all spells. Of course, some people are less powerful than others, but most spells are accessible to the general public."

The man's expression had become unreadable as he stood up from his chair."And how about you? Are you a powerful person?"

Julian smiled, "I believe so, yes."

The man hummed in approval but didn't say anything as he turned around and busied himself with some files on the desk behind him. Julian broke the silence by clearing his throat, "but, sir, if I may ask, how much longer do I have to be here? I came to this world by accident, and I have friends and family back at home. I'd like to work on a way to go back."

The man shook his head as he started laughing and turned to look at him."Oh, no. You won't be working on a way back anytime soon."

"Excuse me?"

The man smiled, "you see, we don't often get visitors from other worlds. It would be a waste to just let you go."

Julian's expression hardened, "what else do you want from me?"

The man crossed his arms as he smirked, "oh, my boy, that depends on how well you perform."
