Cecilia glanced around, and so did Anthony.
"They saw us, right?" Cecilia turned to Anthony, who had a small smile playing around his lips.
"I'm pretty sure they did. There are four of them watching, but none of them are within hearing distance."
"Okay so now they've heard you talk about rebelling, and they've seen us get closer. What's next? We need to pretend we're in a relationship, so that next time you refuse to work for them, they bring me in instead of Elias, right?"
Anthony's smile faltered a bit, "yeah, that's the plan. Once you're inside, you can try to get answers out of them. I'm starting to have my doubts about this, though. I know it was my own idea, but I don't know what they'll do to you."
Cecilia smiled and grabbed Anthony's hand, "that doesn't matter, because you can decide when they stop. Didn't you say they'd let Elias go once you did what they asked from you? We can try every once in a few days to get answers out of them, and you can just give in to their orders if they don't seem to be letting go of any information."
"Okay, yeah, let's do that. We need to go to the library now, right? Let's go."
Anthony seemed to be wanting to change the subject and Cecilia followed him with her eyes for a bit before smiling and shaking her head, letting him push her towards the library.
"You're a great kisser."
"Cecilia I just told you to shut up, please."
Cecilia chuckled and shrugged, "I'm just stating it. I know you were nervous about it. You may be able to block your thoughts but you can't hide your feelings for me."
"Cecilia, I swear to God I would not hesitate to push you into the nearest river if only those people weren't stalking us."
"Psh, no need to be so aggressive about it."
Cecilia smirked as she turned to look at Anthony, who only glared at her for a bit before looking ahead again.
"So, we're going to be a couple for the next few, what? Weeks? Months?"
Anthony let out a low hum, "yeah, that's the plan. It's at least until we got some information and have started rebelling properly."
"Are we going to tell the others?"
Anthony didn't reply, because they'd entered the library, and the librarian wasn't the nicest person. They found a spot in-between the bookshelves on the other side of the library. After checking their surroundings multiple times, Anthony returned to where Cecilia was, looking for useful books.
"To answer your question before we came in, I don't know if we should tell them. Maybe just acting like a couple would be enough, and when we're approached about it, we tell them that we're dating. It could be suspicious if we told them we're dating out of the blue. It hasn't been so long since we've known each other, either."
"Okay, fair enough. So, what is it that we have to do to look like a couple?"
Cecilia glanced at Anthony who was suddenly very focused on looking through the books, but she could see his ears become red, and his thoughts didn't do a good job hiding his embarrassment. Instead, he cleared his throat and spoke, "Are you suggesting you've never been in a relationship?"
Anthony didn't look at her as he picked up a random book about insects, opened it, and let out a yell before harshly closing it and throwing it somewhere away from him on the ground. He sat down and let out a defeated sigh as he put a hand over his heart, closing his eyes. Cecilia tried to keep in her laughter as she watched everything with amusement.
