Cecilia hadn't imagined for this to happen to her, a nine years old girl with a future. A future that seemed to slowly disappear the longer everything took.

"Why... why can't you heal it for me? Your powers are healing, right? Then why isn't it working? Why... why does it still hurt?"

She clutched onto the sleeve of the boy next to her. Her neighbor, Eden, who'd always been able to heal everything. She'd always gone to him with all her petty injuries. She'd always known she'd be alright once Eden tended to it but this time it was different. This time it wouldn't be okay.

She saw tears well up in the boy's eyes as he tried again, his hands glowing the moment he touched her legs, and she could feel his powers working, she could feel the relief everywhere. Everywhere but her legs.

He looked up at her, a single tear now escaping his eyes, his mouth flapping open and then shut again as he tried to find words, anything to explain the situation, but he couldn't.

Cecilia let out a shaky laugh, trying to fight back her tears, "Come on, Eden, this isn't funny anymore.. I- I was just running, s-so it's no big deal, right?"

Cecilia looked him in the eyes as her body started shaking and tears finally escaped her eyes, "I-I'll be able to walk again, right?"
