Cecilia froze, not having expected Anthony's sudden announcement at all.
"What?"
Anthony hugged her tighter, "let's not meet again, Cecilia."
Cecilia broke out of his hug and stared at him in shock, only partly seeing him since her vision was taking longer to return than she'd hoped.
"Anthony, no, you don't understand, I really do know what they're doing. I know what they're doing to you and as soon as I find more proof, I'm going to do something about it. Anthony, why won't you-" Anthony cut her off, "no. Whatever you're about to say, I'm not doing it. They told me about you, you know. They said you can read people like open books. I have to stay away from you, because otherwise-"
This time, Cecilia cut him off, "-because if you don't, I can discover their evil doings right away. Well, it's too late, I've already discovered them."
She could feel Anthony's body shudder through his hands that laid limply around her waist, something which she was very aware of, but was probably very unintentional.
"You don't understand, Cecilia. They'll hurt everyone if they find out that you know. They'll take my friends, they'll take you, and do things. You have to stay away from me. I thought they were going to do something to you today. I don't know what I would've done to myself if something happened to any of you."
She was very hesitant as she moved closer and hugged him tight, the tall, slender boy shaking in her arms. As he had spoken, her vision had returned enough for her to see his thoughts, and the things he was thinking about had left her speechless, suddenly realizing what the impact of all this was on him. He didn't even need to tell her what was going on. Apparently people from the Council had been stalking him for a long time to discover who the most important people in his life were, to use that information against him once he refused using his powers. He'd deliberately distanced himself from his friends to keep them from danger.
"Don't worry, it's alright. Nothing will happen to me or any of us. You don't have to carry this burden alone anymore."
His head leant heavily on her shoulder as he let it rest there, probably too tired to keep his head up. She hesitated as she lift her hand, but just as she was about to stroke his hair, his head shot up, "someone's coming. Cecilia you have to get away from me." He got out of her embrace and wanted to walk away, but Cecilia grabbed his arm.
"Meet me at the entrance to the Blind Forest near the Mind Class' dorms. The Council can't enter there if they have bad intentions. I'll be waiting."
He hesitantly nodded and walked away as soon as she released his arm, and just as he turned the corner, she felt a pair of eyes on her and she smiled to herself as she picked up the history book that'd fallen out of her bag when she was released. She tried to make it look like she was on the floor to pick it up, and walked away without looking back, hurrying to the school's garden instead of her next class.
On her way she bumped into Clover, who seemed a little bit panicked. As soon as she spotted Cecilia, she let out a soft cry and ran to her.
"Cecilia, have you seen Anthony?"
"Yeah, I was with him just a moment ago, why?"
"I saw him in a vision of mine, I need to talk to him."
Remembering what Anthony had said, and the state he was in earlier, Cecilia shook her head and stepped in front of her friend, blocking the way. Cecilia grabbed Clover's shoulders and spoke, "I'm sorry Clover but I think it's best if we just keep away from Anthony for a while-" Clover cut her off by getting out of Cecilia's grip and putting up her hand to keep her from talking, looking stern.
