"Wait, wait, we can't conclude any of this yet! Anthony hasn't said anything about this himself and we've all worked with the higher-ups and have never experienced any form of abuse! They could easily exploit Matthew or Elias, why make Anthony an exception?" Julian jumped up, looking a bit worked up.

"I didn't say Anthony is an exception. There might as well be a dozen more students being used like this. And I know Anthony hasn't confirmed any of this, so I'm going to approach him about this soon."

"Still, I'm sure they have a good reason for this, if what you're saying is true. We can't do anything about it either way." Julian looked at the other three, and when they looked down, he turned his attention back to Cecilia.

"Thank you for sharing this information but I must go now. I have a strict weather schedule to follow during this time of the year."

With that, he walked away from them, back to the school building. Cecilia watched him as he disappeared, and then turned back, slumping down over her notes, "you guys can go, too. I basically only called you to ask you about how much they use you for your powers. You don't have to go with this either, it's just me speculating."

"I believe you, though. It's true, Anthony hasn't hung out with us much after the first half year of our education, and he always looks like he's about to drop dead right in front of us, no matter how much he tries to hide it. I've noticed it in his moods." Elias stood up and came to sit next to Cecilia, looking at her notes.

"I agree. Eden has also been suspecting something like this happening behind our backs, and he has an amazing intuition. But, if Anthony confesses about this, what are we going to do?" Matthew crossed his arms as he spoke, his brows furrowed together.

Cecilia looked up from her notes and fixed her gaze on Matthew.

"Simple, I'm going to rebel. There's always been something off about this whole city. I can't believe humans would ban us, since they're selfish and stupid, and would love to exploit us. From what I've read, they'd love to use your power in particular, Matthew. Apparently they're running out of energy sources and they'd use Francis to fight the global warming. Julian would save all the dry lands and fix the climates. Alec could be a human transporter, Eden would be used to cure all illnesses and Annabelle would be used to grow all the plants they need for their stupid mass production. The Council and the Ministry are hiding something, and as soon as I find proof for these speculations of mine, I'll be the first to fight them."

The three grew silent, and Matthew's eyes had widened, while Eden just seemed to be deep in thought and Elias gaped at her. Cecilia stood up and dusted her pants before collecting her notes.

"Well, you guys can just think about this overnight. I'm going back to the dorms."

"Wait, I'll go with you. Matthew, Elias, goodnight." Eden hastily stood up and walked alongside Cecilia back to their dorm after wishing the two remaining guys a good night.

"You know, I really think you're right about all of this."

Cecilia looked up at him with a worried look, "Eden, I've seen Anthony limping in front of our dorm at least thrice in the past week. He wants help, but he can't ask for it. I set up this barricade to avoid hearing hundreds of voices in my head all day, but his voice got past it. You know what that means? That means he's been silenced for so long, that his mind's voice got just as strong as the normal voice. Go outside tonight around eleven PM, you'll find him. Please help him, even I'm hurting every time I see what's going on inside him. He really is in pain."

Eden stared at Cecilia before putting an arm around her. She felt his calming touch and him soothing her thoughts and she smiled, "it's still super weird every time you enter my mind."
