"Alright, Jude, did you manage to compare Clover's note with her journal?"
"Yeah, there's only new information and as far as my knowledge goes, I haven't seen anything contradicting so my conclusion would be that there are no paradoxes yet."
"That's great, so we still have time."
Eden nudged Cecilia's arm and offered her a small bottle, "you should drink it. My powers are strong so you don't have to worry about me making these potions for you. Just drink it and be safe."
Cecilia smiled a little and softly pushed his hand away, "it's alright, Eden. I'm okay. Save this for some other time."
She let out a soft breath as Eden stepped away and she looked around the control room to check if they hadn't forgotten anything. Anthony walked up to her and silently offered to carry her bag, but she refused and turned her head to Eden and Jude.
"You two can go out in the open, but the moment Anthony and I are seen, all hell would break loose. I texted Alec to come get us so he should arrive any minute now."
"No, no, I'm here already."
They all turned to a voice coming from the door and saw Alec standing there, wearing the same uniform as they did.
"Is everyone ready? The others are already waiting at the border."
"Yeah, sorry for making you work so much, but your power really is the most convenient one right now. If you get tired, you have to tell us. Don't want you getting overworked."
Alec smiled as he grabbed hold of her bag with one hand, and held Eden's hand with the other. Anthony stood next to her and gently intertwined his hand with Cecilia's as Jude took Anthony's other hand. Alec checked if everyone was connected and before they knew it, the scenery had changed from the inside of the control room, to that of a forest. It was pretty dark, but rays of light broke through the thick forest here and there, giving it a magical feel. Everyone was standing in front of a thick red line on the ground, which Cecilia assumed was the border.
"Is everyone ready?"
She skimmed over all their faces, making sure everyone was there and let out a shaking breath as the situation dawned in on her after seeing everyone in the same attire made especially for them in case they had to fight. Anthony squeezed her hand softly and she shift her attention to Julian, who was standing next to Annabelle.
"You said the Council will be notified once someone crosses the border?"
"Yeah, they'll get a sign and they supposedly send people from the outside to catch whoever left the city."
"Then, is there any other way to cross without getting caught?"
"Teleportation."
Cecilia turned with a guilty look to Alec, who just smiled warmly, "alright everyone, please make sure you grab each other's hands. If you're not directly or indirectly connected to me, you won't be teleported, and you'll be very much in trouble. I fear my powers won't go any further than teleporting this group once."
Everyone held their breaths as they silently formed a circle and once everyone was connected, Alec took a deep breath and the next moment they were in front of a shack in the middle of the forest.
"Did we cross the border?"
Elias had asked the question and looked around in wonder. Cecilia didn't have the time to take her surroundings in, because Alec soon fell down on his knees next to her. She wanted to react, but the sudden slight movement she'd made sent a sharp pain through her chest and she stood frozen, afraid to move and get hurt again.
