"Moony! Padfoot!" Harry squeals around six o'clock in the morning. He was jumping up and down next to the bed the two men shared, anxiously waiting for them to wake up. He wanted to have breakfast and play with his godfathers Plus the sun was starting to come up, they should be up by now, in Harry's opinion at least.
"Prongslet! Prongslet!" Sirius mocked as he started to sit up and swing the young boy up onto the bed. "So, what are we having for breakfast?" Sirius asks.
"More sleep." Moony mumbles sitting up, stretching, and ruffling Harry's hair. "How's oatmeal with toast sound?" He asks the two.
"Coming right up, sir!" Sirius says with a mock solute, carrying Harry, and marching out the door.
Once downstairs while getting breakfast and tea started, Sirius starts to talk to Harry as though the young boy could give him solid advice. He was asking him questions about what Remus would like as far as decorations, or a Christmas gift, or a trip. When his only reply was giggling and smiles he chuckled and thanked his godson for the perfect insight. As soon as the tea was just the way the Remus liked it Sirius scooped up Harry and carried him back upstairs floating the breakfast tray behind them.
"Your breakfast, love." Sirius says with a bow moving the tray to the night stand with a flick of his wand.
"Thank you, dear." Remus replied with a roll of his eyes. However he really was grateful for the other man, he wasn't quite up to exerting anymore energy than necessary yet.
"Toys!!" Harry said after a few minutes looking bored.
"Toys it is!" Sirius laughed and summoned some of his favorite toys into the room. Between the boy, his toys, and the exausted werewolf there wasn't much space for another person. That's how Padfoot ended up on sleeping on the end of the bed randomly moving Harry's toys around with his head.
"Harry, you know I love Padfoot, yeah?" Remus asked after a while.
"Love you!" Harry called still playing with his toy trucks.
"Of course you do, Prongslet. You are just as sweet as Lily. You know, she probably knew that Padfoot and I would end up together." He said half to himself.
"I think she did, Moony." Sirius said snapping Remus out of his thoughts. "She did always have a way of throwing us together at any chance possible. Then again we've always been together nonstop."
"Yes. Yes she did, she was a wonderful woman." Remus replied smiling.
"Moony, I'm going to be completely honest with you right now, okay?" Sirius says after a few minutes. "I've been waiting for years to be with you the way that we are now. Years. I've loved you since sixth year at Hogwarts. You're simply beautiful. Not in the way that you see a beautiful person in the street. You are a perfectly clear night sky type of beautiful. Not only is it impossible to take your eyes off of, it makes you feel everything that's good at once, it makes you feel like everything is going to work out, like the entire universe came together for you to have that moment. That's how it is to look at you. You're my clear night sky and you have been for years." After Sirius finished he got up to walk away, he wasn't sure if he wanted to see the other man's reaction since they hadn't discussed their relationship since that night.
"Padfoot," Remus whispered while reaching out for Sirius' hand. "I love you. I've always felt more connected to you than anyone else in my life, aside from Lily, but that was a different kind of connection. I just didn't know what it meant. You've always stood by me and I've always stood by you. You are gorgeous, inside and out. Gorgeous in the way that a waterfall in the mountains is gorgeous. We've always had a bond, we just know what it means now. I have you, you have me. I'm not letting this go, I'm not letting you go. We have Harry and each other. And I love you both more than I can put into words."
Sirius let's out a breath that he didn't know he was holding and collapsed into Remus' arms. They stayed like that until Harry fell asleep at the end of the bed playing. After taking Harry to his crib for the rest of his nap the two went downstairs to the kitchen for some tea. As soon as they started the tea Remus turned music on with a flick of his wand and grabbed the man by the waist to dance.
"Sirius Orian Black, will you be mine?" Remus asks with a small smile spinning the taller black haired man.
"Remus John Lupin, can't you see? I always have been." At that, they kissed. They were lost in each other for what seemed like forever, dancing, kissing, just holding on.
"So, about the play date with Draco?" Sirius asked a few hours later, after Harry had woken up from his nap and was playing with his blocks in the sitting room. "What are your thoughts? Narcissa owled yesterday asking."
"I don't see why not, it'll be here. Lucius won't be there, I don't trust the man. Narcissa is your cousin, and a mother, I'm sure she just wants her son to have a friend and to be able to reconnect with her cousin. You two don't have much family left." Remus said while wrapping his arms around the man he loves. "If Mcgonagall believes their innocence, I don't see why we shouldn't. We can always talk to Dumbledore after, I'd like to get a feel for her."
"Well, all that's left is to name the date and time, I suppose." Sirius sighs.
"Next Wednesday?" Remus suggests with a shrug.
"Sure, I'll write to her after dinner."
After dinner the two bathed Harry and got him ready for bed while Harry decided what book they were to read to him. He chose a Muggle book 'Winnie the Pooh' from the display of about five Remus had laid out for him.
"Good choice!" Remus exclaimed. Then started cleaning the rest of the books up and putting the room in order before sitting along side of the crib and reading.
Sirius was watching from the doorway as he decided what to say to his cousin. He didn't know if he was more excited or nervous about the meeting. A large part of him believed that her husband really wanted to be on their side during the war, but a small part in the back of his mind remembered all of the terrible things the man had done. But no one could get to Harry to cause damage to him here. He had his godfathers to protect him. Not to mention the wards placed on the house by the Order of the Phoenix as well as the Black family, the latter of the two had to be tweaked here and there.
As Sirius sent the letter off telling his cousin to come by at one o'clock Wednesday afternoon, he started to remember what they were all like as children. Running through the house playing hide and seek, playing wizards chess for hours on end because each of them hated to lose. Then his mind wandered to Bellatrix, Narcissa's sister. She went mad with a hunger for power after she was let into Voldemort's inner circle. The woman would do whatever twisted and cruel thing that was asked of her with a smile and a laugh. It made Sirius sick to think that his cousin had gone down a path so reckless and dangerous.
"Coming to bed, love?" He heard Remus ask in a husky tired voice he couldn't resist.
"On my way, babe." He replied with a smile.
