"So Harry," Sirius said excited. "how was your first day of school?!"
"It was so fun! I think Draco and I even made a friend!" Harry said plopping himself down on the couch.
"Oh yeah?" Remus asked sitting a plate of scones down on the table. "Tell us all about your new friend."
"Her name is 'Mione. She's very nice. She told us that sometimes she makes her stuff float behind her by accident." When Harry said this the two men looked panicked. "Don't worry, we didn't say the 'm' word. We just told her that it was cool." Harry said rolling his eyes at the panic on the men's faces.
"Harry, are you sure your friend said that she makes her things float?" Remus asked.
"Yeah, Moony. Can we maybe take a nap? I'm tired." Harry asked just before laying down on the couch.
"Of course, Prongslet." The men said laughing when they realized he didn't think anything of their new friend being a young witch. When they got up after Harry had fallen asleep they went to get a blanket and his favorite stuffed animal, a stuffed stag with a heart stitched into the chest. They each just looked at him for a moment before kissing him on his head and tucking him in.
As they walked into the kitchen Sirius poured himself a cup of tea and laughed. "Merlin, we send him to a muggle school for one day and he manages to make friends with a witch." Sirius said laughing.
"Of course he did, we can't get the magical world away from him apparently." Remus said rubbing the bridge of his nose. "Well, if she's a muggle born she won't know who he is, so that's good. If she isn't muggle born she would have known his name and have made it obvious and probably given up the secret."
"So have a drink and celebrate life's small miracles, yeah?" Sirius asks grabbing the wine and glasses out of the cupboard.
The next day while Remus was at work Sirius decided that he would talk to Harry about the proposal after he picked him up from school. However when he got there he saw Draco and Harry talking to two adults with a small girl with bushy brown hair.
"Padfoot! This is 'Mione and her parents!" He said running up to his godfather and getting scooped up into a hug.
"Well, hello! My name's Sirius, I was so pleased to heard that Harry had made a friend!"
"It's a pleasure. We're the Granger's. We sure are glad our Hermione has made some friends as well. She tends to scare off other children from time to time by telling them some of her, uh, pastimes." Mr. Granger said shaking hands with Sirius. Mrs. Granger gave her husband a pointed look that told him he had almost messed up.
"Oh Harry is quite used to interesting pastimes. I'm sure he just adores hers." Sirius said polietly. "I'm afraid we really must be going. I'm sure I'll be seeing you around, though." With a nod he grabbed ahold of Draco's hand and walk over to Narcissa who was clearly trying to find her son with a bit of a panicked look on her face.
"Cissy, we're right over here!" He called to his cousin waving.
"Draco, honey! I couldn't find you!" She said pulling her son into a hug and picking him up. "Thank you, Sirius."
"Of course. Our boys here have seemed to have made a friend that they may meet later on in their other school." He said nodding to the apparating spot, suggesting that they should talk more over there. "Leave it to them to make a Muggle born witch their friend in the first day of a muggle school."
"What?! How do they know?! You didn't tell her anything about magic, did you dears?" She said rather frantically.
"Of course not, mum!" Draco told his mother. "We're not even aloud to say the word, remember?" He reminded his mother as though she had forgotten.
"Good boys. So how did you find this out?" She asked looking to the boys for an explanation.
"She told us she makes her toys and books float when she can't carry them all. She loves when her parents read to her." Draco said as though it was the most normal thing in the world. Narcissa, on the other hand looked to Sirius with an expression that asked what they should do.
"I just met her parents, nice people. No idea how their daughter does this. Remus and I assumed she was Muggle born because she had no idea who Harry was, thank Merlin." Sirius said with a shrug. "I've been trying to decide if we should tell them or let them get the letter when she's older."
"Well we have time to figure that out, as far as we know they don't know anything about to wizarding world and we should keep it that way until we can gauge what their reactions might be." Narcissa replied. "I'm sure Lucius is anxious to see Draco. Love you both." She said with a kiss to their cheeks and turning to apparate back to the manor.
"So Prongslet. Ice cream?" He asked.
"Yes!!" Harry replied with a huge grin. "Then Moony?!"
Sirius laughed "Yes, then Moony."
Once they had their ice cream at a Muggle cafe not far from their home, Sirius was trying to decide how to bring up Remus and him getting married. He couldn't figure out the right way to approach it while having Harry understand just what it meant.
"Padfoot, how come you and Moony don't have the same last name?" Harry asked innocently. "Everyone else's parents that come pick them up do. Not that I mind. Just asking."
Bless his godson. He had the perfect timing. Sirius beamed at the little boy, relief flooding him from not having to bring it up. "Well, Prongslet, it's funny that you ask. I was going to talk to you about how you feel about Moony and myself getting married? Now I haven't said anything to him about this, so if you're okay with it we'd have to keep it a secret between us until I ask him. What do you think?"
"Yes!!" The little boy said with a wide smile. "How do you get married?"
At this Sirius laughed kissing the little boy on his messy black hair. "There will be a wedding with all of our friends where we tell each other that we love each other very much and want to be together for the rest of our lives. Then there's a big party with dancing and food and fun."
"I think I'd like that, but you say those things now. When's the party?" Harry asked like it was a done deal.
"I have to ask him first, silly. I would really like your help with that, but we have to keep it top secret. Okay?" Sirius said talking about it like it was an under cover mission.
Harry smiled a wide smile "Cross my heart. I love you, Padfoot. Can we go see Moony now?"
"Of course little one." Sirius said taking his hand and walking to the book shop down the street.
"Moony!! I love you very much!" Harry said running up to Remus who was putting some books on a shelf.
"Prongslet! I love YOU very much! How was school today?" Remus asked just as excited to see Harry as Harry was to see him.
"It was fun. We had ice cream after!" Harry almost yelled.
Remus gave Sirius a look that said he wasn't a fan of ice cream before nap time. "Did you? What'd you get?"
"Berries!" Hey said hugging the man's neck.
"Well, better be off!" Sirius said smiling a smile that he knew Remus couldn't stay mad at. "I love you, babe. See you at home, yeah?" Kissing the man on the cheek and winking.
"Of course love. I shouldn't be too much longer here." Remus said melting at the smile and wink Sirius gave him, knowing that it was so he would forgive him right away.
Sirius heard a young man say something about how fit Remus is, so he kissed him one more time for good measure. Then looked at the man who had made the comment with a smile. He knew that his relationship was secure he just took pleasure in making other people jealous, he always had when it come to Remus.
