The following day the young men started taking calls and opening letters. The Tonks' had sent a package full of toys, clothes, and diapers along with a letter offering any help they may need in caring for Harry. The Wesley's sent a letter offering their condolences and to take Harry from time to time if need be.

Then Dumbledore's letter came. He told the men to come to Hogwarts and to bring Harry as soon as they were available, not specifying why in typical Dumbledore fashion.

"I suppose we should go into town to get the rest of the things we'll need for Prongslet. Who knows how long we'll be at the school." Remus suggested with a sigh and a sip of tea.

Sirius flopped into the plush chair across from his friend "I guess you're right. Can't we just stay here and play with Harry all day?"

"Unfortunately we will have to leave the house at some point soon, we'll need diapers if nothing else." Remus chuckled as he stood up to stretch.

So the two men slowly got themselves and one year old Harry together for the day.

"MOONY!! We get to buy Harry things! We need a bag to carry his diapers and toys and spare clothes and such in! It's got to be a cool bag, oooh! A backpack with lots of pockets! And toys! He needs plenty of toys! Then lunch. Then ice cream. Then we'll go to Hogwarts. Sound good?" Sirius was practically dancing through the shops in Muggle London on their way to Diagon Alley. One of his absolute favorite things to do was shop for his godson. He just knew he needed the moon and all the stars, he did already have the dog star wrapped around his tiny finger.

"Okay. Okay. We'll get him everything, Padfoot. Let's just stick to the basics for now until we decide on the decor for his room, yeah?" Remus laughed trying to be realistic about how much they wanted to put into the bag they'd have to search though to find anything.

"Moony, he actually needs all of that!"

"For a day trip? To a school?" Remus replies with an eyebrow raised.

"Whatever" Sirius complains rolling his eyes. "but we are getting ice cream, he needs that. Definitely."

Once they went through the stages of arguing the definition of 'essentials' they decided to have lunch at a diner near by. Unfortunately everyone recognized Harry and started to stare, some even tried to approach them asking questions. Remus, being the more level headed of the two polietly told the people that they didn't wish to be bothered and that staring was rude.

Once Harry had his ice cream Sirius and Remus took a deep breath and apparated to Hogsmead with little Harry in tow.
