"Cissy!!" Sirius called over to Narcissa while he and Remus were dropping Harry off to school. "Guess whaaat?" He asked in a sing song voice holding onto to Remus' hand beaming.
"Oh Sirius! You finally did it?!" She said smiling from ear to ear. "I'm so happy!!"
"Thank you, Cissy! I honestly had no idea. While he and Harry were planning it out, I thought they were going to prank the neighbor." Remus said laughing and putting his hand behind his neck.
"You really didn't see this coming?" The woman asked. "I mean honestly Remus, your were always the most observant of the four. Anyway, we have to celebrate! I can't wait to start planning!!"
"Cissy we haven't even told anyone outside of you, yet." Sirius laughed. "Once we tell our friends, then we'll plan."
During the school day Ms. Myers asked the children what they did that weekend, and they were going to draw where they spent the weekend. Draco told the class that he spent his time swimming in the pool and playing with his parents, Hermione told them that she went shopping with her parents. While the class was sharing what they had done Harry was bouncing in his seat eager to share the big news. Finally it was his turn and he all but yelled "MY GODFATHERS ARE GONNA GET MARRIED!!"
"Oh, Harry that's great!" Ms. Myers said in a slightly higher pitch than normal.
"They really are?!" Draco asked.
"Yes! We went to the beach and played in the water and had lunch then Sirius asked Remus' to marry him!" Harry said rushing his words out. "That means they're always going to be together!"
Once the children had finished drawing their pictures it was time to go outside. Hermione, Draco, and Harry all ran over to the grassy area where they usually played and talked about their weekends. While they were running around Hermione said that she wanted to get a particularly bright colored leaf out of the tree, but she couldn't reach it. The boys started to try to climb it with her, but she told them not to worry about it, she would just bring the branch down. So, she did just that, she looked at the branch with determination and it started to come down low enough where she could reach it. Once she had plucked the leaf from the branch her concentration was broken and the branch flew back into place. The whistle blew indicating that it was time to go back inside and pack up to go home.
"Woah!" The boys said in unison. "We have to tell Sirius and Remus about this."
They said their goodbyes to Hermione and ran over to Sirius to tell him about what they saw today. The boys were so excited to tell him that they had to be told to slow down and speak one at a time twice. Once Narcissa was next to them they had finally gotten their words out. Sirius and Narcissa stared at each other wide eyed deciding that they needed to talk to the Granger's soon, they didn't want anything to happen to the little witch.
"Okay boys, thank you for telling us. How would you feel about having Hermione over for tea one day soon?" Sirius asked the boys while passing them to his cousin. He wanted to find the Granger's before they left.
"Mr. and Mrs. Granger!" Sirius called over to the two when he caught sight of them.
"Mr. Black! How are you? And please it's Jean and Patrick." Mrs. Granger said smiling.
"Oh just fine, thank you. I was wondering if you'd like to have tea at our place sometime this week? I know the boys would love to have little Hermione over." Sirius asked giving them one of his award winning smiles.
"Oh, sure. When would you like?" Jean asked Sirius, looking over at her husband to get his opinion.
"How's Thursday afternoon? We can just head over to our place after we pick the children up from school." Sirius suggested.
"That sounds just fine. Thank you, we'll see you then!" The three shook Sirius' hand and were off.
"Well, Thursday after school everyone will be coming to good old 12 Grimmauld Place." Sirius told Narcissa with a sigh. "Do you think Lucius will want to come?"
"Lucius? Come to tea with muggles?" Narcissa laughed. "I think he would love to once they know some more about magic. However he wouldn't have a clue what they were talking about, and he would probably overwhelm them by using magic for regular tasks."
"Mm. Valid point." Sirius said. "Harry! Let's go get some fudge and take it to Remus, yeah?" Sirius called over watching his little boy jump off of a platform and run over with a huge grin.
Harry set a record with how long it took him to choose what type of fudge would be perfect for Remus. He knew chocolate would be the best, but what kind?! There were so many different types of chocolate fudge, so he obviously had to try at least eight of them. After about thirty minutes of close speculation they had decided on white chocolate, dark chocolate with sea salt, and milk chocolate with caramel. By the time they walked to the book shop Remus only had twenty minutes left until he was off of work, so Sirius and Harry browsed the books and would 'just so happen' to be looking in the same area that Remus was stocking every few minutes. Sirius was shamelessly checking Remus out every chance he got and when Remus caught him he'd blush and rub his neck.
"Moony! Guess what!!" Harry yelled excitedly at Remus while they were walking home.
"Prongslet! What?!" The man said mimicking Harry's tone.
"Hermione and her parents are coming over on Thursday!" Harry was bouncing as he said this.
"Oh yeah?" Remus said slowly looking at Sirius.
"There's a reason it was so last minute. Promise." Sirius said kissing his fiance on the cheek.
The three went inside where Harry laid all of the fudge they bought out on the kitchen counter. After they each had a piece Harry told them to stay where they were, that he had a present for them. As he ran off the men looked at each other with a slightly worried look on their faces, he could have made friends with a snake for all they knew, and they really didn't want to have a pet in the house quite yet. They already had Padfoot. A few minutes later Harry come running around the corner with a piece of paper in his hand. He proudly handed the paper over to Remus and tells them that their teacher told them to draw where they went that weekend, so he drew the beach and two people standing with a smaller person between them. Sirius thought that this was the most beautiful picture ever crudely drawn by a child, so they casted a sticking charm and put it in their room.
"So, there calling reason that there will be people over on Thursday without my input?" Remus asked finishing the cleaning.
"Oh little Hermione made a tree branch bring her a leaf today on the playground." Sirius said casually. "So it's time to tell her parents before something happens."
"Oh good. There actually is a valid reason. So, do we know how we're approaching the situation yet?" He asked while playing with the other man's black hair.
"Not a clue. Was hoping you and Cissy would figure most of that out." Sirius replied popping a piece of fudge in his mouth.
The following day at school all the three friends could talk about was how excited they were to go to Harry's house together. All Sirius, Remus, and Narcissa could think about was how to not scare the muggles off upon walking in the door, so they spent the day figuring out what they were going to open with to the Granger's. Once they got started it would be cake walk, but how do you tell someone who doesn't even believe magic exists that their daughter is a witch? Remus said they should ease into it, Narcissa said to show them slowly, then there's Sirius he said to just tell them and show them at the same time. The sink or swim technique he said.
"I hate to admit it, but Sirius does have a point." Remus said while Sirius' jaw dropped, he didn't think Remus would actually agree even though he is quite brilliant. "However we have to do it very slowly. First maybe ask them if they believe in magic. Then show them a little bit, tell them that the boys can do magic too, that accidental magic is completely normal. Lastly tell them that their only child is a witch."
"I feel like that's the best option." Narcissa said standing up. "Let's get the boys and get prepared for tomorrow." With that the three apparated to the school.
