Six years later the kids were ten years old. They talked about Hogwarts constantly, they were all so exited to go. They'd talk about what house they were going to be in, what classes they were most excited for, and what pets they would bring. However, the closer it got to Harry leaving for Hogwarts the more nervous Remus and Sirius were. Not just because their little boy would be leaving them for most of the year, but because they wouldn't be able to protect him. Over the past year there had been rumors of people looking for Voldemort, to bring him back. They knew that Hogwarts was one of the safest places to be, but it was also the most obvious. This thought kept the men up at night. Sometimes they would spend the nights in the kitchen talking, others they would lay in bed to read up on theories about immortality.

"Hey, Prongslet." Sirius called. "You know you'll be going to Hogwarts next year, yeah?"

"Yes! I'm so excited, I'm sure I'll be in Gryffindor like you guys! And I've been reading the books we got! I'm so ready!" Harry said stumbling over a chair to get to the sandwiches on the table.

"I'm sure you will. But listen, there's something we need to talk about." Sirius said in a somber tone. The tone of his voice really got Harry's attention, Sirius was the one who was always light-hearted one, his husband was the one who delivered bad or serious news.

"Okay.." Harry said slowly looking at Remus for a clue as to what was going on.

"When you go away we need you to be careful. That means no wandering the halls after hours, even though you know the place. No going out of your way to cause trouble. No wandering anywhere by yourself. Okay?" Sirius said with Remus standing behind him, hand rubbing the man's shoulders.

"Okay. I don't see why, though." Harry said certain his arms defiantly. "I've been going there for years and never had to be extra careful."

"Well then you were only there for two days and slept in a professors rooms instead of a dorm." Remus said backing Sirius up. Harry hated when they worked together like this, they usually did, but he couldn't argue both of them. Sirius was easier to persuade, but with Remus there with him, he couldn't be swayed from logic. "Oh, Prongslet, remember that we will find out. Even if Minnie or Dumbledore don't. Which they probably will."

"Okay. Extra careful. Can I know why?" Harry asked.

"Well, you know that Voldemort is not dead." Remus said, he and Sirius hated that the little boy had to know so much sadness and grow up at such a young age. "We've heard people saying that someone is trying to bring him back. And we'd rather you be safe than have someone take you or hurt you while you're out somewhere you're not supposed to be."

"S-someone is trying to b-bring him back?" Harry asked wide eyed.

"I'm afraid so. But what we're going to do is rent a house near the castle in Hogsmead when you're in school. That way we can be closer to you just in case something happens." Sirius said looking up at Remus.

"I'll be okay, guys. Dumbledore is there. Minnie is there. You can be flooed if anything happens. You don't have to pack up and move just because I'm going to school. Remus you'd have to leave your job, you'd be farther away from everyone." Harry said genuinely feeling bad.

"Prongslet, it really wouldn't be an issue at all, you know we'd do anything to help keep you safe. That's why we have you. That's why your parents trusted us. To keep you safe no matter what." Remus said sitting down next to the boy.

"Okay. It's up to you guys." Harry said walking up and sitting down at the table with a sigh. "It's still a year away."

Later when Harry had gone to bed, he snuggled his stag and doe plush toys close. While Remus and Sirius talked about what the upcoming year would bring. They hoped to have a normal year just like they've been having, but Remus had a feeling it wouldn't be quite like that. After the men spent a while discussing the possible outcomes of the year Sirius curled up next to Remus in bed as though if he could just get close enough and be held tight enough everything would be okay, their Prongslet would be okay.

"So should we talk to Dumbledore about this? I know it's just us feeling this way, but we have heard whispers about Voldemort's return as well as hearing your cousin, Bellatrix's name. We know that they go hand in hand." Remus asked rubbing Sirius' hair.

"I'd really rather not, I want us to be able to handle this. However I think we might have to." Sirius sighed burying his head into Remus' chest.

"Let's think on it for a week? Talk to the Order, then decide what we do, yeah?" Remus suggested, kissing Sirius' head.

"Mmkay. Start figuring it out tomorrow, yeah?" Sirius asked starting to fall asleep. "I love you, Remus Lupin."

"I love you, Sirius Black." Remus said kissing his husband and settling down into bed.

The next morning Harry walked down the hall from his room to the library. He wanted to learn as much as possible about different ways to defend himself from dark magic, he thought that if he was well versed his godfathers wouldn't worry as much. After spending about two hours up there reading in his favorite nook he heard both of his godfathers frantically yelling his name.

"Up here! What's going on?!" Harry yelled back running into the hall fearing that something bad had happened.

"Harry! We couldn't find you!" Remus said catching his breath while Padfoot ran up the steps turning back into Sirius just as he reached the top step. "Sorry to worry you, Prongslet. We're just on high alert as of late."

"So everyone is okay?" Harry asked still wide-eyed.

"Yeah, we're all okay. Breakfast?" Sirius asked.

"Moony, Padfoot, are we going to be okay?" Harry asked in a small voice looking down at the floor.

"Yes, we'll all be okay, just a little extra careful for a while, yeah?" Remus said following the two down the steps for breakfast.

For his last year of muggle schooling they had decided that it was in everyone's best interest if Harry and Draco were taught at home by tutors. Most of their lessons were taught at 12 Grimmauld Place as Malfoy Manor was too dangerous, Death Eaters had spent too much time there. The children would take their lessons either in the library or in the back garden while Sirius and Remus hosted Order of the Phoenix meetings in the kitchen and sitting area. They were quickly gaining information as to what was happening with the search for remaining death eaters, most of his inner circle had been caught, some claiming that they were under the imperious curse while doing his bidding, whereas other's were proud of what they had done. Bellatrix Lestrange, Sirius' cousin, was one of the proud followers, however she was in hiding. She would randomly give a statement to a newspaper or send letters to ministry officials, always careful to never leave any clues as to her whereabouts. This is what scared Remus and Sirius the most, they knew the lengths the woman would go to have the Dark Lord back again. She loved what was left of the man, she was a blind follower, she wanted nothing more than to please him, and if that meant killing her family or a child she would not hesitate to do so.

"She's made a statement." Remus said coming in the door and throwing a newspaper on the table in front of the members of the Order. "She says she's going to bring him back to glory, that she's going to take the child." At the last part every face in the room went deathly white. They needed to keep Harry safe now more than ever. They needed to go into hiding, or all three live at Hogwarts. Those were the only options.
