Friday night - Dan was led on his bed, staring at the ceiling while he listened to the sound of his parents arguing through the floorboards of his tiny room. Of course, he was used to this. So used to it, it stopped driving him insane. So did never having plans at first...

The fact he never had plans over the weekend but to stare up at his ceiling wasn't sad to him - it was normal. He hated being alone with his thoughts, but it kept him occupied. For a bit anyway...

DING! *New Message*

Dan rolled onto his side, grabbing his phone which was led next to his body on his bed. The message was from a new number - Phil.

Phil: Dan, it's Phil. What's the plan for the challenge?

Dan began to type back, also changing his name to 'Dork'.

Dan: I was hoping you had the answer to that, since you always like to plan ahead.

Phil: Nope, I may plan ahead but i was thinking that you would kinda like to be in charge...

Dan: I'm good thanks

Phil: Fair enough. We'll plan together, your house or mine?

Dan heard a loud crash from downstairs.

Dan: Yours

<{*Phil Lester*}>

Phil: Sleepover?

Dan: Excuse me?

Phil panicked - 'Why would you ask that, you idiot?'

Phil: Sorry! I just thought you weren't the type of person to get up early on the weekends, so i was wondering if you wanted to sleepover.

He typed rapidly - he'd never been so nervous while texting someone in his life. Scrap that, he'd never felt so nervous in general.

Phil: My Mum won't be home until Sunday so I'm pretty much alone all weekend.

He added on.

<{*Dan Howell*}>

Dan was about to type 'sleepovers are for bratty 8-year-olds' when he heard yet another crash from downstairs.

Investigate? Yes.

Dan creeped out of his bedroom, phone still in hand, silently making his way downstairs. Honestly, there was no point in being quiet - his parents wouldn't be able to hear him over their screaming anyway. The kitchen door stood ajar - Dan peeked in. It was a risky move; either one of his parents could open the door and realise he was there at any moment.

Broken glass. Broken plates. Broken photo frames. Everywhere.

Broken memories.

Dan had seen enough - he crept back to the stairs and sat on one of the top steps.

Dan: Actually, a sleepover sounds great right now

<{*Phil Lester*}>

Phil was slightly confuzzled about Dan's change in mind, especially since it happened so quickly. He was happy nonetheless.

Dan: Mention it to anyone though and i'll kill you

Phil chuckled lightly at Dan's last message.

'Classic Howell...'

Phil: Cool, be over whenever. And I won't tell, that's a promise.
