"Your girlfriend didn't listen to my warning, so now I'm warning you - don't get on that plane with her or bad things can happen."

...

Katherine's POV:

I admit, that message shocked me a little and I believe that that was its purpose, so I didn't pay much attention to it. Honestly, it could be just one of those fans who stalked Shawn and saw the two of us in front of that restaurant, just a meaningless threat that I will definitely ignore because I don't wanna waste this chance to finally be truly happy... which means that I'll also ignore my parents and run away from home.

Let me see, Shawn's got his flight at 2AM and now it's almost midnight so I better start packing my bag. I packed what I think is important, like some of my favorite clothes, makeup I've spent a lot of money on and a couple of my favorite books... and then I remembered I was crying for a couple of hours before and had to unpack that makeup I was talking about so I could fix this mess that's been covering my face. It, as usual, didn't take so long, so I was already ready to go, but I didn't want to be that early. I was sitting on my bad, staring up at the ceiling when I got a nice idea. I can't just leave without telling my parents anything, they're still my parents and I love them after all, so I'll leave them a message.

I took a sheet of paper and a pen that was beside it and started writing.

Dear mom and dad,

I appreciate you and everything you've done for me and I also appreciate your attempt to keep me safe one more time, but there's no need for that now. I made my decision and I really hope that you'll understand me, even though you didn't before. You have to trust me just like I've trusted you all along, I know Shawn, I trust him, too and I know that I'm in good hands.

Thanks for everything once again,

I'll be back, that's for sure, but let me live my dream and my life right now,

lots of love,

Katherine.

As I finished my letter, I put everything back in place and slowly and quietly took my bag and purse and left my room. I was careful enough, so they didn't hear me when I left the house.

What Katherine didn't know was that she was wrong about that message.

But everything comes with a price.

Shawn's POV:

I was at the airport and just like this whole night, I couldn't get my mind off Katherine. I didn't know what happened after our conversation and I really wanted to know, but I didn't want to bother her. It's okay to give her some time, I guess. I just couldn't stand the fact that she was crying. She deserves everything best in the world and shouldn't cry. Never.

I could feel my cheeks blushing a bit when I started thinking about her. Her eyes, her smile, her laugh, her voice... everything was just too perfect to be true.

And in that exact moment, I felt my phone buzzing in my pocket. It was a text from... weird, from an unknown number.

" Your girlfriend didn't listen to my warning, so now I'm warning you - don't get on that plane with her or bad things can happen. "

" What the hell is this? " I said quietly to myself.

Just when I wanted to continue thinking about what just happened, I saw her. I saw her running towards me with a bag in her hand and a purse over her shoulder. I could see that she was smiling, so I smiled to. As soon as she stopped running and stepped beside me, I wrapped my arms around her and she did the same. I didn't want to ask her about what happened after and it didn't matter because when she pulled away, I looked her in the eyes and kissed her. I guess she was okay with that because she didn't pull away until it was time for us to get on the plane and finally leave together.

Katherine's P.O.V

Toronto is such a beautiful city, I was truly amazed by it and I can't wait to see more of it these days. It didn't take us long to come to his place which was awesome because that meant that we can spend more time together. I couldn't wait to meet his sister and parents, I was really excited and a bit nervous but it didn't matter because I was here with him.

Mother called me earlier this day to say thanks for leaving a note and to wish me luck, she also apologized for some of her earlier actions which surprised me because I expected that call to contain a lot of shouting and anger which it luckily didn't contain.

I left all of my stuff at his and we both left as soon as he greeted some of the neighbors. Such lucky people, to have Shawn Mendes living next door. I smiled at that and continued enjoying this whole situation.

They both enjoyed each other's company while walking down town, talking about everything they could possibly think about. Conversations were going in every single direction, from favorite childhood memories, funny moments and also the embarrassing ones to their favorite lines from movies and thoughts about space and stars. They didn't seem bored or tired or anything, it seemed like they could talk and joke whole day, ignoring everything around them.

But ignoring everything around them wasn't really a good idea, because even in those moments when everything's perfect, one thing was enough to ruin everything.
