When I Come Back

Intro

Hiccup

It was a normal August morning. Winter had just melted off and the sun was beating down on Berk.

I woke up early and went on a flight with Toothless. As we flew, the wind engulfed me, all my worries we lifted, and all my thoughts were lost. You can't find a better feeling than this.

During our flight, Toothless and I ran into Stormfly and Astrid.

Astrid: Hey! Went on your morning flight I see!

Hiccup: Yeah! I didn't expect to see you out here.

Astrid: Well that sounds like you don't want to see me. *raises eyebrow*

Hiccup: W-what!?! No of course I wanted to see you!

Just then a horn blew, telling everyone to wake up.

Hiccup:I better get back before my dad realizes I'm gone.

Astrid: *laughs* Then you better hurry!

I smile a thanks and then head back home. I wish my dad was more supportive of my morning flights, but he thinks I don't get enough sleep, which he's not wrong, but there's no way I'm going to admit it.

I quietly slip through the front door and quietly climb the stairs a few steps. Then I turn around and stomp down the steps and yawn.

I poke at the burned wood to start a flame up again. Then i grab a basket of fish to feed Toothless. As I do every morning.

I could hear shuffling in my dad's room, usually he's down stairs by now. I wait patiently at the table, he must of had a late night.

He walks out of his bedroom and hands me a pin with a Night Fury on it.

Hiccup: Wow! Thanks dad!

Stoick: You're welcome .....

He sounded distracted...

Hiccup: What is it for?

Stoick: Son, I have something to tell you....
