Astrid
When it goes to jump again, I throw my axe at the figure, but to my suprise, the figure catches my axe, then lands on the ground with a knee on the ground, the other leg bent, one hand touching the floor, the other in the air behind him holding my axe, and its head down. (Aka a cliche superhero landing stance)
It slowly lifts it's head to look at me, sending chills down my back.
How did it just do that?
The figure stands, all the muscles in my body tense, getting ready for anything to happen. I take the time to get a good look at the figure.
It was a person! In all leather armor, some peices died black, leaving others brown with designs carved into them, some cylindrical object attached to the persons right leg, a metal left leg, some sort of book attached to its right wrist guard, and a dagger attached to the other. This person had a helmet like I've never seen before, it had fins on the sides, smaller ones along the top, much similar to that of a dragon, and it covered it's whole face only leaving the eyes exposed. The eyes were a mesmerizing emerald green.
"You done?" It was a deep, but familiar voice. Defiantly a guy.
My breath caught in my throat, "W-what?" I said, trying to sound as normal as possible.
"I asked if you were done. I don't like being out in the open," He said, swing my axe dramatically.
My eyebrows furrowed in confusion, but ignored his question, "Who are you?"
He gasped dramatically, only adding more questions to race around in my head, "You don't recognize me?" He asked.
I looked back at Stormfly, who was scratching her wing as if nothing is happening.
What is happening?!?
I turn back around to face the figure, only to see that he was inches away from me. I froze. Not breathing, not able to move, or talk. I was frozen.
He whispered, "I'm guessing you want this back."
I reluctantly grab my axe, thinking that someone who wanted to hurt me, wouldn't arm me. Still frozen, axe in hand, I watched as he walked deeper and deeper into the forest until he disapeared in the darkness of the forest.
As soon as I lost sight of him, my blood began rushing through my veins, air filled my lungs, thoughts racing around my head once again. I ran as fast as I could looking through every part of the forest.
Eventually, I made it to to the end of the forest where it cliffs off into the ocean, the very edge of the island.
"Ughhh!" I screamed in frustration.
How could I just let him walk away like that?
Was he someone I knew?
Does he have something to do with Toothless' disapearance?
Shaking my head, trying to clear my thoughts, I climbed onto Stormfly to go find the other riders and tell them about what happened. Hopefully they had better luck today than I did.
As soon as Stormfly and I shot into the air, the others were already back and shouting my name.
"Astrid! There you are!" Heather exclaims.
"Any luck?" I ask, looking at each of the riders individually, just to see them shake their head now.
"Nothing on your end either?" Fishlegs asks.
I take a deep breath in, hope it would help drown out or organize my thoughts, "Well..."
I had explained everything to them, trying to explain everything in order, by the time I was done they all just looked at me shocked, except Hether, who had a smug smile on her face.
"Man, really need to find out who this guy is." She says, earning a laugh from the others, "A man who could stop Astrid dead in her tracks. "
I cross my arms and huff, blowing my bangs out of my face. And feeling my cheeks get hot.
"Let's patrol real quick and then we'll tell Stoick. " I said, trying to ignore Heather's statement.
The others groaned in exhaustion, but went off to their separate sections anyway.
I had had a normal patrol, I just needed to check the caves in the cliffs at the edge of the forest. All of them seemed to be normal, until I came to a cave that had a flickering light catch my attention.
