Astrid

It's been an entire year! Hiccup's been gone an entire year!

But, I think the time will go by quicker if I choose to stay positive. Hiccup is only supposed to be gone for 5 years, or 60 months, or 260 weeks, or 1,825 days, or 43,800 hours, or 458,000 minutes, or 10,368,000 seconds.

I had Fishlegs do all the calculations. (I'm a math nerd ;)

Winter is finally here and things are starting to slow down. We have gathered all the supplies we need for devastating winter, and we have enough supplies for now all the way to devastating winter.

Which leaves time for the gang and I to explore, train, and patrol. Also, I've been switching off between Toothless and Stormfly. It seems to help a bit with his...state.

Toothless still disappears at night, I don't know what to do anymore, so I just leave him to himself, but every morning I wake up to him and Stormfly staring down at me.

Every morning I wake up at 6:00 and go get dressed, redo my hair, and eat. At 6:30 I go out and feed and water the dragons. By 6:50 I head out to go do my chores, then by 7:50 I start Hiccup's HUGE list of chores. I usually finish his chores around 9:50, so I make my way towards the Academy.

Depending on what we do, in the Academy, that day depends on how long it takes. Today we're bathing our dragons and then doing self defense drills, so we'll finish around 11:20.

That gives us enough time to head to the Great Hall and eat lunch.

Gobber: Hello, lassies!

Everyone: Hey Gobber.

G: Clock'n in for lunch early, are we?

S: Yeah, I deserve an early lunch everyday!

S: Hey babe? I can cut you on on the deal...

A: No you can't, because your not going to get a early lunch everyday.

S: So what you're saying is, if I did get lunch early everyday you would want me to take you with me?

I put my hand on the top of his head, pushed him down, and then dropped my axe on him, handle side down.

G: *chuckles*

G: Hey, how are you holdin' up, Astrid?

I was exhausted, overworked, sleep deprived, confused, annoyed, sad, bored, starving, but not wanting to eat, dying of thirst, but not wanting to take a drink, broken, and even though I was surrounded by people, I was lonely.

A: I'm fine.

G: Alright, well if you need any help, you know where to find me.

A: Thanks, Gobber.

   We finished eating around 12:50.

A: You guys can do what you want, until patrol.

E: Patrol, ugh!

T: We do that every night!

A: That's because it's our job!

R: Why don't we switch off every night?

F: You know that's not a bad idea.

I turned to Fishlegs and gave him my, don't even try, look.

F: Or maybe it's not such a good idea...

A: You're right it's not because whoever's turn it is, has to check the perimerter, the caves, the woods, village, and ocean and shore check.

Checking the perimeter is pretty much self explanatory, whoever is doing perimeter check, takes laps around the island until the others are done and checks the sea stacks.

Whoever has the caves, has to check the Whispering Death tunnels, the natural caves, and the caves on the shores.

When someone has to check the woods, they have to fly slowly over the woods and then walk through it, checking as many trees as you can.

The one who has to patrol the village, helps some of the other soldiers walk around the village and check behind every building.

Those who have ocean and shore patrol, check a mile out in every direction from the island and checks the shores for any boats, prints, or remains.

Imagine all that combined and all on one night!

Twins: She's right.

Snotlout: Of course, she's always right.

He took his arm and wrapped it around my waist. So I took my hand and twisted his arm until it popped a few times, and then shoved him to the ground.

A: We meet back here at 5:00.

After that I walked into the woods to get my anger out and trow my axe at whatever tree was around me. After 2:00 I dropped by the cheifs house to see if he needed any help or company, apparently he needed both.

He was going through Hiccup's room and found a few of his old inventions.

*a few moments earlier*

I poke my head through the door.

A: Chief?

S: I'm up here, Astrid.

I slipped into the Haddock house and made my way up to Hiccup's room.

His room was a bit dusty, but it was exactly how I remembered. Except for him being there, of course.

Stoick was sitting on his floor with a few of wierd looking objects in front of him. The Chief was just sitting there staring into space.

A: Hey chief..

S: Astrid, would you like to help me?

S: I can tell you a few stories.

A: Stories? About Hiccup?

S: Yeah...
