A light blush spread across my cheeks and I quickly spun out from in front of him to hide it.
"Woah!" He exclaims, "Hey, I'm sorry if I got too close..."
I would have just accepted his apology and moved on with it,but I could hear, in his voice, that he wasn't completely sorry for it.
"No, no. It's fine. Just startled me is all..."
What a stupid excuse.
"I startled you?" He asks, raising an eyebrow.
I finally turn around to look at him. He really was older. His jaw was more defined, his eyes had shaved off most of their innocence, more freckles sprinkled across his face, his scar smaller, but more highlighted than before. His shoulders were now a bit broad and the spots were muscle should have been, now starting to get filled out. He's taller, more confident, and aware of the things going on around him. His hair longer and out of his face.
"I'm going to start checking the rooms out," he says, while scratching the back of his neck.
Good job!! You got caught completely staring at him!!
I followed him to the room the first room. This was the only room downstairs. Consisting of a simple bed and desk.
Guessing the rest of the rooms, looked like this, I asked Hiccup if I could go through some of his boxes.
He hummed in response as he climbed up the stairs to check out the other rooms.
I on the other hand, was now pulling out blankets, drawings, designs, amulets, specially designed daggers, this weird familiar cylindrical looking thing, a box full of notebooks, a pair of weird rolled up cloth things, hiccup's sheild, and then I came across a box full of giant peices of cloth on top of a fur coat.
"Woah! What are these?" I say to myself, as I start pulling them out.
"Wait!! I wouldn't look at those!" Hiccup exclaims as he jumps from the top of the stairs to the ground and keeps walking as if nothing happened.
"H-how did you just do that?" I ask, gawking.
His eyebrows furrow in confusion, "How did I do what?"
"Jump from all the way up there to down here and just keep walking?"
"Oh. Uh, well, I just jumped. I've had to jump from height much higher than that." He says, nonchalantlty.
I look from him ,to the spot at the top of the stairs, and back to him in astonishment. It was almost inhuman like.
When I bring the focus back to what I was doing, everything is put back in its place. The box holding the cloths, out of sight.
"Hey!" I exclaim, looking around, "Where's the box that I had?"
"Put away."
"Why?"
"Because..."
"How come you didn't want me to look through that box?"
"That's a box that not even myself has gone through yet."
"Hiccup, your a terrible liar."
He shrugs his shoulders, "Maybe so, but I am good at making plans."
