Geek dashed down corridors and paths, trying to get to his destination. He was running so fast, he couldn't breathe. He had blow through so many wild Pokemon, he couldn't even count them. It was a fast rush to the finish, and Geek wasn't going to make it. Left, right, forward, backward, down, up, Geek was doing it all. It was absolutely insane. How had Geek not seen it before? He should have never sent them away before attacking the dark creature, but then again, what was he supposed to know? He couldn't trust his own thoughts, his own thinking, even the thinking of his most trusted friends. Everything was moving just as Wraith wanted it to. Geek was probably running right into a trap right now, but he didn't care. All he cared about was Volt.
Geek reached the stairs to the final floor, and breathed heavily. He was exhausted and completely defeated. But he had to go. He had to save everyone, if there was even anyone left to save. Off in the distance, Geek heard Dist and Wave calling his name. They had followed him, but they were still too far away. He couldn't wait for them. He walked down the stairs and into a hidden area. There were trees everywhere, their thick coverage of leaves blocking out most of the sunlight. Everything was eerie and spooky, just as Geek suspected. The silence seemed to cut through itself, until Geek started hearing his own heavy, yet controlled breathing. His heart was practically exploding out of his chest, and he slowly took a step forward.
There was movement. Something dashed beside Geek and hide in some bushes nearby. It was too dark to see what, or exactly where, but Geek could hear. He could sense the aura around him. Dark aura, everywhere. Geek closed his eyes and focused. He blocked out his emotions, senses other than hearing, and stood completely still. Silence. Geek could hear, despite being so deep down, the sounds of Wave and Dist. He could have cared less. Suddenly, movement. From bush to bush. Multiple targets. Three targets. No, two, or three? Geek couldn't tell. He was losing his focus, and he couldn't hold on. That's when the attack came. Opening his eyes and opening his senses, Geek turned and grabbed the attacker and flipped him over his body, then threw him into a tree. Nothing happened. No sound of a hit, no scream or yelp, nothing. Then, Geek felt another aura nearby.
Turning, Geek fired off an aura sphere. It illuminated the darkness for a mere second, and Geek could see the face of one of his attackers. An Oshawott, but not just any. It was Tsunami, completely black, with red eyes. That meant...
Geek shot a sphere at the direction of the other attacker, praying deep inside that it wasn't who he thought it was. The light cast its glow on the body standing in the bushes, looking at him. A Pikachu, black with red eyes. It was Volt.
"No," Geek mumbled, dropping to his knees.
Shadow Volt stepped from the darkness and into what little light the sun casted. Tsunami stepped out behind him.
In unison, with Wraith's voice, they sent chills down Geek's spine, "I told you Geek, oh how wrong you were."
Geek drooped his head. A single water drop fell from his face and onto the ground, sliding down a blade of grass, and into the dirt. He was defeated. Done. Everything was doomed. He had no hope, until...
"Geek!" Wave shouted as he launched a blast of water into Tsunami, "FINALLY! I have an excuse to do that!"
"Geek, follow me!" Dist shouted as he reached out a dark hand from under his costume towards Geek.
Shadow Volt jumped for Wave. Geek clenched his fists and stood, grabbing Shadow Volt's leg. Then, filled with rage, he twisted and slammed Shadow Volt into the ground. Before Shadow Volt could recover, Geek opened his mouth, and disintegrated the Shadow clone's face with a huge Dragon Pulse. Shadow Tsunami dashed forward, but Geek threw his fist out and chucked several Aura Spheres at him. Each hit, dealing damage and sending Shadow Tsunami flying. Wave and Dist watched as Geek used Extreme Speed to jump over, grab Tsunami mid air, then strike him with seven Thunderbolts all in rapid succession.
Both clones melted away, just like the strange black creature from before. Wave and Dist, both in total shock, stood in the doorway looking at each other, dumbfounded. Then, a low, almost inaudible sobbing echoed across the room. Geek was on his knees again, and the ground around him was getting wet. Wave walked over, looking at Geek with sadness in his eyes. He bent down and patted Geek on the shoulder. Geek raised a hand and wiped his face off, but the damage from the tears had already been done. Suddenly, there was a ruffle in the leaves next to them.
Wave jumped up and prepared to attack, but Geek stood up, his face dreary and wet from the tears, and smiled. Moss walked out from behind the leaves, injured and weak. He collapsed in front of Wave who immediately picked him up and started checking him out. Moss looked at Geek, and pointed in the direction he had come from.
"The... others..." he said, before passing out.
"I'm on it," Dist said as he plowed through the bushes.
Geek helped Wave with checking Moss. When Geek checked Moss' temperature however, he stopped, staring at something on Moss' neck. It was Volt's scarf. Geek reached out and grabbed it, pulling it off of Moss' neck and holding it in his hands. He choked, then let a few more tears go by. Wave held back his own tears too. He knew what that meant. Dist came back, carrying Tsunami in one dark hand, and Volt, without his scarf, in another. Both, were asleep.
