Geek and Moss dashed down pathways and hollow tree logs that had fallen over and eroded over years and years of just sitting there. It was actually pretty easy to remember where they had come from, but Geek was still on alert to what Dist had said about it being a place of no return. There hadn't been many other Pokemon around, so Geek had been assuming the worst. The worst seemed to be the reality recently. Moss followed close behind Geek, and made sure to keep back from too many dangerous areas. Geek did most of the leading and decisions. Moss had faith and trust in him, so he needed to not let him down like everyone else. The two went down, down, down, deeper and further into the forest.
They reached a small opening where the light breached the thick foliage above. It was a nice little spot with a small stream and some berries. A few other foods were scattered around. It was just a neat little area to rest before continuing further. Geek walked over to the little stream slash pond area and bent down to get a drink. Moss walked over and started picking berries. They were still within earshot range, so Moss decided to take this opportunity to try again.
"So, you don't believe you're a human huh?" Moss asked, half as a joke and half serious.
"Nope," Geek relpied, even though he knew something about him being a human felt real.
"Welp, then I guess me and Volt are the only ones who remembered," Moss said.
"Why do you think I would believe that Volt thinks he was a human?" Geek asked as he lifted his head, still not looking at Moss.
"Because I'm here Geek. If Volt hadn't believed me, do you think he would have given me his scarf and sacrificed himself for me? For you? Do you think he would just give up on you like that?" Moss posed his point, and Geek had to admit, he was right.
Volt wasn't the type to just believe somebody because he trusted them. But he was able to believe someone he had just met that day, then Volt must have known the truth. Moss said Volt knew he was a human, he just needed a push. If this feeling Geek had every time he thought of Greninja's words was him trying to remember his human past, why hadn't he been given a push? If Moss had such an easy time with Volt, how come he hadn't remembered anything? How could he even tell if he really was a human? It was all strange to think about, yet one thing connected to another as Geek thought more and more about it.
"Volt may have remembered, but I don't," Geek finally said, "And personally, I don't think I ever will."
Moss sighed, then looked at Geek, "Then I guess I'll have to try harder."
That was the end of the conversation. They ate, refueled with water, and headed out. They continued to search and look for anything that would help them, and they never gave up their hunt. They went down another five levels before finally finding any remote sign of Pokemon or ruins. It was another two levels before they finally reached a large portion of the ruins, which had several large walls and structures around. This wasn't just any ruin. This was the ruin of a small town. As they walked along, Moss found a cliff face nearby. He walked over to check the view, but saw something entirely different. He saw something he could have never imagined.
"Geek!" Moss shouted to his friend.
"What?" Geek said, not lifting his eye from the walls he as reading.
"Come here!" Moss said.
"Hold on," Geek replied as he continued reading.
Nothing but stories and other legends about random things Geek had never even head of.
"Geek, now!" Moss was becoming insistent.
"Fine I'm coming," Geek said as he peered away from the wall and walked over to his Treecko friend who stood on the edge of the cliff looking down.
