The bright light shot a beam straight into Geek's face as he slowly woke up. The window blocked a small portion of the light as it peered into Geek's room. With a groan, Geek sat up, rubbing his eyes and yawning. He looked over to see the other bed, usually filled with his Pikachu friend Volt was empty. He must've already gotten up. While trying to debate what to do, Wave opened the door to his room and peeked inside. Geek smiled and waved weakly, obviously still sleepy. Wave smiled back and swung the door wide open, revealing Greninja standing behind him.

"Wake up sleepy head. We've got a party to throw for you," Greninja said as she turned and walked down the hall. Wave chuckled.

"Party?" Geek asked.

"You must still be asleep dude. It's that day you know? The anniversary of when you defeated Wraith? It's been a whole year now," Wave explained as he walked in and helped Geek stand up.

"Really? It's already been a year?" Geek asked suprised, "Time sure does fly."

"Heh, I guess so. Well whatever, everyone's waiting for you," Wave said as he basically dragged Geek down the hall towards the dining room.

The doors swung open and everyone shouted surprise. Geek immediately woke up, and in a good way too. Volt sat in the middle of a donut of tables with a cake in front of him. Geek was led by Gallade towards the center. Geek and Volt stared at each other with big goofy smiles, both laughing to themselves on the inside. Everyone started chanting their names as they both nodded, they began eating. Everyone stuffed themselves with food made by the finest of chefs, Wave. The whole day was spent eating, talking, reliving old experiences, telling stories, and just relaxing. It was a fun day too.

"You know you guys didn't have to do this right?" Volt asked as him and Geek sat in the couch area.

"We know. But we felt it as our duty to honor you and your actions. Even if it took great sacrifice, you still did it, and we thank you for that," Lucario said as he sat down next to Geek.

"You guys did better than we ever could have," Marowak proudly complimented.

"You may have just been lucky to be given the scarves," Greninja said, "but something still tells me you were chosen for this. Thank you."

Just then, Geek felt a sharp pain in his head. It went away as soon as it came, but Geek couldn't deny it. It was quick, painful, and almost timed. Something Greninja said triggered it. No, Geek shook it off. It couldn't be anything big. It was probably just the cake and party taking a toll on him. Geek decided to head off to bed early, as much as he wanted to stay and party. Volt was a bit concerned, but he figured the same thing as Geek. Everything really had flown by in the past year. Everything had been so fast and fun, yet Geek felt like something was off. He had been here since his birth, yet he felt like he hadn't been here much longer than a year. He couldn't deny the fact that he felt empty, like he had forgotten something important. Then it occurred to Geek, the connection he had felt. Greninja said she thought they were chosen. Geek felt like he had been forgetting something. Could they be related?

Geek rolled up in bed and stared out the window for a bit. He could hear the laughter and fun everyone was having in the main room. Geek didn't care, at least not right now. He was concerned. He was worried about something, but he couldn't tell what. Something was wrong, and Geek knew it. Could Greninja have made a point? Were Geek and Volt chosen for this? If so, how? If so, why couldn't Geek remember anything? Everything was so confusing, and Geek's head spun just thinking about it. He decided to actually go asleep, but he didn't fully drift off until Volt came into the room, nearly two hours later. It was quiet, and Geek dozed off, letting sleep overtake him.

"I've done it!" A voice shouted from the doorway to the dining hall.
