When we arrived at the arena, it was early and the press was already stalking the outer perimeter.I could only imagine the questions they would ask as I looked out the window of the limo.

I’m sure they would all pertain to Bobby, and why he had left. They would automatically assume it was my fault, I could tell that much. I looked as guilty as they wanted me, dressed in a black trench coat and dark sunglasses, but I ignored all of it as I got out of the limo and passed by them while they shouted my name.

Just before I reached the door to go in to the arena, I had a second thought.

I turned to face the paparazzi, withdrew my sunglasses, and the crowd became silent watching my every move. I still pondered how I could have that affect on such a large group of people.

“I know all of you had your hopes up about this dual concert with Bobby and I, but due to other engagements beyond our control Bobby had to leave the production at the last minute. We are not fighting nor are we breaking up. But we have someone who has taken Bobby’s place and who I am extremely excited about introducing to the world.” I smiled as I glanced at Eddie who was standing by my side. “So I would appreciate it if you all just stick to the facts and not

read too much into all of this.” I turned back towards the door and headed inside.

When we reached the inner doors, Eddie stopped while the twins carried on to the dressing rooms.

“Quick thinking out there.” He motioned to the door.

“Thanks.” I shrugged.

“Jaci, I just wanted you to know that you are a wonderful person on the inside and out. You’re like a sister to me and I want you to be happy. So at anytime if all of this doesn’t make you happy, don’t think for a minute that you have to stay in this business for me or anyone else for that matter.”

I smiled back at Eddie. “You’re sweet, but this is my dream, and I have to live it out, the good and the bad.” I glanced down and then back into his eyes. “But thank you.” I turned and walked towards the dressing room.

“Jaci!” I turned back to face him.

Eddie took a few steps forward and stopped. “You don’t have to do anything.” Then he continued on walking past me.

In the dressing room I took a seat facing the mirror. I thought about what Eddie had just implied. What if I did justwalk away? What would happen?

“You look like you need some coffee.” Jade paused from brushing out my mane.

I smiled slightly back at her in the mirror.

Jema came over with a cup of coffee and propped herself onto the vanity. “So, have you heard from him? Bobby, I mean?” She asked unsure if I would bite her head off.

“He has called a few times but I’ve ignored them. I just have a lot on my mind and I don’t want to deal with him right now. I’ll deal with it when I get back to L.A.”

“I’m just going to tie your hair up for practice. Is that alright?” Jade asked as she twirled my hair between her fingers.

I nodded and sipped my coffee.

“So...are you going to tell us what happened between you and Toby?” Jema added injury to insult.

I looked at her directly. “No.”

“You girls ready to run through this a few times, wardrobe and all?” Eddie appeared leaning against the door frame.

I was eager to get on stage and leave this mess behind.
