Chapter 22
The only two reasons why I brought her is because I didn't want her to get into a circle of cameras while trying to mind her own business. But also because I haven't felt the same sense last night theirs something different in the atmosphere between us.
I was standing in front of her, her hair was up into a lose but neat bun. She was wearing ripped jeans and a white shirt with a black leather jacket and scarf. Some way she seemed brighter than before as if she stood out. I could tell that she was analyzing my abs.
I pull on a grin. "Do you like what you see?" I chuckled through she looked up at me in shock as if she's been caught doing a crime.
"What are you doing?" She questioned tilting her head to the side a bit. She completely dodged my question. I took off my shirt and for a split second I saw her eyes go wide, which for some reason that lighten my mood.
"What do you think I'm doing?" I looked at her which I could tell she was having a hard time not looking at my bare chest.
"I don't know, why do you suppose I asked you?" She huffed frustrated, and she's so cute when she is. She sat there which I was going to change clothing but I can do that later. So I walked over towards her and sat down she was eyeing me.
"I just want to say sorry for putting you through this, I was having a great time last night that I forgot what reality was, and I just got lost in this." I looked at her making my lips go thin, and she was looking me in the eyes seeing if I'm telling the truth. For some reason I can't help but think about kissing her again.
"It's okay I understand." She gave a half smile at me. My body wanted to slowly lean into her to kiss her but I held back.
"Well I'm going to go change cloths so feel free to look around... here cause I don't want you leaving." I grin at her and she rolls her eyes.
I walked into my closet picking out a blue shirt and ripped skinny jeans. Soon after I came out and she had a book in her hand, from how the book looked new but you can tell it had a thunderous past. I knew exactly what it was and who it belonged to.
"Where did you find that?" I walked up to her, I was shocked yet mad. Because I trust no one with this book.
"Her eyebrows were creased close together and her eyes showing confusion. "I found it in your draw in your night stand." She looked at me then the book then the night stand.
For some reason I wasn't as mad as I thought I was going to be, but I still didn't want Tatum to know about my past. "I don't want you messing with that book." Tatum looked down at it then looking back up at me.
She set it aside and looked back up at me and she wanted to say something but didn't. She looked towards the window as if she's been in a cage for years and longs to be outside. I walked over and plopped on the bed which made Tatum jump by the unlikely thing I would do. She was sitting on the other end of the bed looking at me as I laid there.
"What?" I rested my hands on my chest, and she was still looking at me in a curious way.
"Alfred what are you trying to do?" She continued to look deep into my eyes, as if that was going to help.
"I'm not trying to do anything, can you just chill." I looked at her and she wanted to say something back but didn't. So she took off her shoes and laid flat down on the bed looking up at the ceiling. She didn't bother to look at me, but I took the time to study her.
"Alfred whats wrong?" She turned to look at me and I didn't move my eyes away from her.
Her eyes seemed dull and was studying my face to see if there was a hint on my face. "Theirs nothing wrong, besides the internet." I smiled at her trying to hide the strange feeling I've been carrying sense this morning.
She didn't say anything so she grabbed the remote and turned on the TV. Soon after she was getting in the blankets because it was getting pretty chilly in my room. I didn't brother to move the blankets that I'm laying on top of, because I wanted to feel something.
"What is that book about?" Tatum spoke softly, as if she was speaking to a little angel.
I turned to look at her, her back was facing me. Her hair was laid out behind her, she was cuddled in a little ball. "It's about someones life." I closed my eyes to hold back the pain. I can't let Tatum see me like this.
So I sat up, but she said something. "Don't leave." She seemed to be asking gently, I needed to leave but I wanted to stay. "Please." She said in a fate whisper.
I pulled the blanket from the pillow on my side, I laid down next to her. My shoulder was touching her back, the heat from her body was radiating off and it was a cold room. I laid there for a bit until I finally decided to move to my side facing away from her. But she then turned around towards my direction. Her eyes were close, and her hands were under her chin, she was still cuddled up like a ball. I faced her direction and put my arm around her mid waist, I pulled her closer to me. My chin was resting on her head I started to smell black tulip, which by now I can never get enough of that smell.
I closed my eyes, and at first it was a bit hard to recognize what I was seeing...
I was standing in the far corner of a dark blue room, there was a night light glowing in the dark corner. I walked up to the small bed. There was someone under the blankets saying no, it sounded like a little boy. As I reached down to pull the sheet down to see his face, he jumped out and ran out of the room. I followed him, he was a brown haired little boy with car pajamas. He was running down the stairs as fast as possible, he was huffing because he was so scared of something.
I looked around there were pictures on the walls, it had pictures of famous places around the world. But there were three people in most of the pictures, it had a mother, father, and a little boy with brown hair and blue eyes. It took me a second to realize that this was one of my memory's. I walked down the stairs I heard the little me scream for mom. I fund my parents room and there I was in bed right next to my mother who was slowly waking up.
"Alfred whats wrong?" She turned to look at little me, and brushed her hand through my hair. It was nice to hear her voice.
"Their are monsters in the shadows of my room." Little me hugged mom and she hugged me back. She patted her bad motioning little me to get in bed with her. She was holding the little boy in her arms petting the top of his head. And she started to hum her own little song she made just for me. As soon as the little me closes his eyes, I open mine.
I was back into the present I felt cold. I wish those warm memory's were these days, because I can really use them. But the thing is why am I having flashbacks now. Tatum was still cuddled next to me, and it felt nice that she was. Through she would probably freak when she wakes up and finds herself cuddled next to me.
But I don't care that can wait, I closed my eyes taking in a breath and I smelt her sent again. It calmed me, I don't know why but it does. For some reason I like it better when I'm with her. And I sort of achieved my goal, I got her in bed with me. I didn't get laid or anything, but for some reason cuddling with her seems like a better idea then getting laid.
