Chapter 24
Back at the store I knew that the girl was flirting with me. I was surprised I didn't do anything such as flirting back. It was strange I don't know why I didn't flirt back, am I getting rusty in flirting now or something?
Tatum was walking next to me minding her own business through something was on her mind, but I'm not sure what. A second ago I caught her from falling to the pavement, I don't know why she seemed so surprised. She's been different lately, I mean I haven't been that different but she has drastically changed. Recently there's been something different about her, she seems happier and more open and friendly.
Yea whatever I may seem all soft centered but I haven't changed that much at all. I've been this way for a long time so there's no way I'm leaving this position. I looked down at Tatum she was chewing the inside part of her cheek, which meant she was deep into her thoughts. Yea I pay attention to her okay, it would be rude not to.
"So why did you buy me that dress?" I looked down at Tatum she was studying me waiting for an answer.
I sighed and stuffed my hands in my pockets. "Cause I thought you would like it, plus I think it would look good on you." I continued to look straight and not look down at her, cause I wouldn't be able to leave her alone if I did.
"Oh, well thank you I guess." She moved a strand of her hair out of her face, I could tell that she wasn't expecting that.
"Or maybe I got you that dress for a specific reason." I looked at her she seemed shocked yet trying to figure out why I would get her that dress. I laughed because she was thinking so hard about it and I have to say its adorable.
"Just tell me." She huffed looking up at me with a pout look on her face.
I pushed her just a bit and smiled down at her. "No can do, your going to have to wait and see." After my words she rolled her eyes and continued to walk without saying another word. Is she really that frustrated that I didn't tell her why I got the dress for her.
We walked in silence a bit before Tatum was in her own world again. She had walked into this shop that brewed coffee and tea. I followed her in, she was slowly looking around at the different flavors of tea and coffee. She had her index finger gently tapping her lips as she judged ever drink she saw. I walked beside her with my hands in my pockets looking at the drinks but glancing at Tatum as she was looking down at the flavors.
"Do you drink coffee or tea?" She looked up at me waiting for a answer.
"No not really." I continued to look at the different flavors, I didn't bother looking at her because this brought back a small memory...
I woke up and the smelt of coffee hit my nose, as usual that meant that my mom was awake. I hopped out of bed heading towards the kitchen. Mom was standing by the island reading a book she found not to long ago at the book store. She said she always wanted to write a book to share to the world but she says that she would never have time to work on it. Because her first dream was to travel the world, but then I came along and she couldn't do as much when we went to places. At the moment we settled in Canada, because my parents felt like they needed a small break from traveling.
"Hey boo boo, did you sleep at all?" Mom took a sip of her coffee as she looked at me waiting for a answer.
"It was okay, the monsters didn't come out to get me this time." I hopped on a stool near the island at which my mom was standing by.
"I thought your father had gotten rid of all those mean monsters?" She leaned close to me with a confused look on her face.
"Nope, he didn't get rid of all of them." I rocked back and forth in my chair.
