Miya
She could feel his piercing stare as she laid on the bed. The family doctor was currently telling her how important is was to take her medicine to stop her hallucinations as her dad sat next to her sounding like a cheerleader.
"I'm telling y'all for the last time I was sleeping when I saw her. I wasn't hallucinating." Miya placed her hand on her forehead to feel the stitches. Her dad slapped her hand down and pointed towards the doctor, telling her that she needed to pay attention.
"Either way Miya you need to take your medicine, how are you suppose to live a normal life when you don't take them?" Doctor Kevin placed a hand on his hip and arched his brow.
"I don't like the way the medicine makes me feel; therefore, I refuse to take them." Miya placed a hand on her hip as well, copying Kevin.
"Miya this isn't the time to play." Her dad warned her.
"Who said I was playing?" Miya looked at him with a blank expression. She turned her head to the right to see Mason still staring at her.
The look on his face was unreadable and she wondered what he was thinking. She couldn't read his body language and it was starting to annoy her. How can she read everyone else, but not his?
"You need to pay attention to your doctor." Mason finally spoke, his voice was low and deep giving her the chills. Surprisingly she didn't have a comeback.
She slowly turned around and caught a glimpse of her dad. He was shocked that another man has put Miya in her place.
"Now I am going to prescribe you with another type of medicine, two at that. One for your pain and something to help you with your disorder." Kevin nodded his head and looked passed her. The only thing that was on that side of the room was Mason.
Miya arched her brow at Kevin and cleared her throat. "Is that all doctor Kevin?"
Miya had to remind him that he was on duty and needed to pertain to her and only her, not the attractive young man that was sitting back at the back of the room. Even though in her mind they weren't together she'll be damned if anybody or anything stared at what is or was hers for to long.
Doctor Kevin looked at her and kindly smiled. "Yes that's all."
"Alright, so write my prescriptions and get the fuck out."
Doctor Kevin laughed and grabbed his briefcase.
"I'll just go to my office and do everything there. You should be able to have your medication later on tonight. Have a good day." He chuckled and took his time to walk out of the room.
Miya shot daggers at the back of his head until she couldn't see him anymore.
"Now Miya, was that called for?" Her dad stood to his feet and ran his hand through his waves.
"Well he was staring at him for to long, he needs to be professional." Miya raised her hand to her forehead and started to pick at her stitches.
"What do you want to eat?" Her dad yanked her hand down and shook his head.
Hearing those words made Miya smile brightly. There's one thing about her dad and that was that he's an amazing cook and always made sure she always ate good.
"I'm kind of feel like eating something with pineapples." Miya tapped on her chin and watched as her dad eyes lit up.
"Pineapple sweet chili grilled salmon and sticky pineapple chicken?"
