Mason

"Mason come taste this for me." Was the first thing he heard when he walked inside the house. His mom voice was low and barely audible.

Ignoring her Mason walked passed the kitchen down the hall to his room. He didn't have time to deal with her antics.

"Mason, I know you hear me calling you!"

Mason shut the door behind him and sluggishly threw his book bag on the ground. He had just came  from football practice and he was beat. Blowing out a heavy breath he took his iPhone 4, the latest at that time, out his jacket pocket and checked to see if he had any notifications.

Nothing too important caught his attention. Just as he was about to throw his phone on the bed it started to vibrate continuously. He nudge his brows together to see that his girlfriend of two years, Nia, was texting him back to back constantly.

Mason let another sigh and went to go call her number; she was currently down south to handle family business and probably missed him.

The phone rang a few times before her boomed through the speaker.

"Mason, I need your help." Her voice was frantic and that made him alert.

"What's wrong baby?" He sat at the edge of his bed.

"I fucked up Mas, I need you. I'll tell you when you get here, but please baby I need you." Her voice was cracking. "I'll send you the address. Just please come quick." Her end of the phone went and that raised serious suspicions on Masons end.

What was that call about? And what did Nia do to make her sound like she was in any sort of danger?

Shaking his head Mason ran his hand down his face and stood to his feet. Since he has nothing to do for the next two days he might as well go see what's wrong with her. He's down for driving any day.

Mason took everything from out his bag and grabbed an outfit or two, he went inside of his closet and on the high shelves  grabbed his two glocks to put them in his bag. He zipped up his bag and threw it back over his shoulder.

He walked out the room and stopped in front of the kitchen doorway.

"Ma, I'm about to dip."

His mom look up from the stove and huffed. "Bye Mason." She threw up her hand to shoo him away.

Mason shrugged and turned on his heels to walk out of the house and got inside of his car. He threw the bag in the back seat and took his phone from out his pocket to get a look at the time. A text popped up on his screen and it was Nia telling him her location, smirking Mason cranked his car up and pulled out of the drive way.

"I don't know why in the hell your going all the way to South Carolina for that girl." Bruce crunched on his chips.

"You mean we? Nigga I need back up." Chris licked on his lips and leaned back in his seat with one hand on the steering wheel.

"How much longer we got?" Bruce scuffed and adjusted himself in the seat.

"Just a few more minutes."

"You said that damn near seven hours ago, I expect to be there quicker the way your ass driving." Bruce complained.

"If you don't shut up and enjoy this fucking ride." Mason said through gritted teeth.

All he could think about was his baby in trouble and that he needed to protect her the best way he could, even if that mean he had to travel from up north.
