Miya/Mela
She stared at the red little glow that seemed to be screaming at her from across the room. The room was dark and all that could be heard was Masons heavy breathing as he laid asleep on her chest.
Miya continued to drag her finger tips up and down Masons neck to keep him soothed and calm. Earlier in the day when they got back from the hospital he told her that he felt as though something was going to pop off soon. He didn't specify what, but it had him on edge. She could see that Mason was trying his hardest to keep Marcus under control, so to keep him a little sane Miya tried to do everything in her power to keep him calm and one of them was for them to get in bed early and lay there together until he fell asleep.
Miya looked over at the clock on her nightstand and the white glow from it read 11:30 p.m.. Miya sighed lightly and started to feel butterflies in her stomach. With her free hand, she placed it on her stomach and rubbed in circular motions. Miya wasn't nervous or anything and wondered why out the blue her stomach felt as though something was moving around in a frantic motion.
"What's wrong with my little babies?" Miya asked out quietly as she continued to rub her stomach.
Miya heard a distant sound that sounded as though fireworks were popping but the next few shots sounded fairly familiar and awfully close. Miya squinted her brows together hoping that she's was not hearing what she was hearing. Seeing Mason jump up from his sleep and sat up straight, answered all her questions.
"Am I hearing correctly?" Miya slowly sat up and rested her back on her headboard.
"They shooting at my fucking house." Mason quickly threw the covers of the both of them and jumped out of the bed.
Miya watched as he ran to the window and peeked through. She continued to watch him and saw that he quickly blinked twice and ran out of the room.
"Marcus!" Miya threw the covers off her body as well and ran after him, but by the time she got downstairs the front door was open with no Mason in sight.
Miya breathed out heavily and rested her hands on top of her head and paced back and forth in her living room. In the mist of her walking back and forth, Miya heard more gun shots and more shots in retaliation.
Miya eyes widened as she felt her heart dropped to her stomach.
"Marcus no, no, no." Miya dropped her hands to her side and turned on her heels to run out the back door.
Miya ran across her yard in the dark and proceeded to climb her fence and jumped the gate that separated her house from his. Miya ran through his massive back yard and made her way towards the front of his house to see glass shattered and bullet casings on the ground. Miya looked around the yard to see most of his cars were shot up. Miya turned around to look at the front of his house to see bullet indents and began to worry even more when she saw his front door open wide.
Miya ran into the house and looked all on the first floor for him.
"Marcus!" Miya screamed. Miya ran up the stairs and continued to scream his name.
Miya burst through his bedroom door to see him sitting at the edge of his bed with an evil smirk on his face.
She let out of breath of relief as she sat leaned against the door frame and slid down. Her adrenaline high was slowly coming down and she started to feel sharp pains in her foot.
