Jacob Dubois
Somewhere HidingHe had this emptiness in the pit of his stomach as he looked over the buildings in his studio apartment. No matter how many times he tried to fill his pit there was still an empty feeling that could never be for fulled.
He knew that Mason's girlfriend father was on the search for him. He knew that and to say that he wasn't afraid was bullshit. Jacob never knew that Miya and her family had that much power to have Haitians in their corner. If he had known that, then he wouldn't have gone so far with Miya. He really liked Miya and the last thing he wanted to do was disrespect her the way he did. He didn't know what came over him that day.
"Fuck." Jacob lied to himself. He knew exactly why he snapped on her the way he did. Jacob wanted Miya for himself. Her attitude was anything a man could want. The way she carried herself was always on point as if she never needed a man. It was her mentality. It was everything about her.
Jacob hated to see Mason with Miya. Deep down he wanted Miya all to himself, but the thought of her constantly rejecting him or talking down on him built up and he erupted irrupted at the wrong time and most definitely at the wrong place.
"What's wrong baby?" The girl he was currently messing with, asked him. He caught her reflection through the window and shook his head.
"It's nothing that you should be concerned about." He couldn't drag anyone into his mess any more. After Marcus told him that he wasn't going to help with anything, he stop asking. He caused this on himself and need to suffer the consequences.
"You seem a little tense." Her hands wrapped around his torso as her head laid on his back.
"I'm good. Like I said it's nothing that you should be worrying about." Jacob looked over his shoulder at her.
"I've known you for a little while Jacob and I know when something is up with you. You're terrible at trying to hide your emotions."
Jacob chuckled and shook his head. "What did I say?"
"You're not my father, nor are you my man to be saying that to me. I'm simply here to be a listening ear, since that's what I'm here for." She chuckled as well, while stepping back and standing beside him.
"No, you're here for my entertainment." Jacob looked over at her.
"That's your problem." She dropped her head and chuckled again. "You don't know how to talk to females. Hence why your wife up and left you without a trace and stole most of your money after that dinner you had with Mason and Miya when they first started dating."
Jacob squinted both his brows in confusion. "How do you know that?"
"When you're drunk you tell all of your business. You even told me how you wish Miya was yours and how you hate seeing her with a messed up guy like Mason." She shook her head. "To talk about your own son." She held up air quotes around son. "Is fucked up. I'm surprised he hasn't beat your ass. I know he sees the way you look at her when she's around."
"You don't know what you're talking about." Jacob shook his head. He wasn't about to let some girl he's been smashing read him like a book.
"I know absolutely what I'm talking about and you should too." She looked over at him. "I'll pray for you though. You're going to need it." She turned on her heels and walked away from him.
Jacob turned around to look at her to see her putting on her clothes.
"Where are you going?"
"My job here is done right?" She arched her brow. "I pleased you enough." She slipped on her shoes and walked up to him. "Maybe soon enough you'll know how to treat a woman and maybe, just maybe, you'll be able to get your wife back and see your daughter." She kissed the side of his mouth and walked away.
