Miya
She sat in the chair next to her grandmas hospital bed and sighed heavily. One moment they were all having a good time and next thing they knew it, everything went downhill.
Who she felt bad for the most was her grandpa, only because he had to witness the starting conditions and go through that all alone when everyone else didn't have a clue to what was going on.
As she stared at her grandma, she felt Marcus hand on her shoulder causing her to look up at him.
"How are you holding up?" He asked her.
"I'm fine, I just can't believe that this happened to her. Nanna was one of the healthiest people I knew." Miya looked back at her grandma and sighed.
"These things have no name to it. They affect even the healthiest people, all you can do is be here for her."
Miya nodded her head and leaned back into the chair. She took a look around the room and mugged. Miya hated all hospitals, no matter the kind. The reason why she hates them so much is because bad things always seemed to happen to her while she's in them. No matter if she was visiting someone or if it was her.
"How is she holding up?"
Miya looked towards the door to see her grandpa walking in. He looked devastated and it broke her heart.
"The doctor say that she's doing just fine. It wasn't a massive stroke and that you caught it right on time. He also said that in the next couple of days, if she's doing great you'll be able to take her home on bed rest." Miya stood up and stood over the bed. She looked over her shoulder to see that Marcus was standing close behind her.
"Thank the lord and the Holy Spirit." Her grandpa shouted out as he walked on the other side of his wife bed and grabbed onto her hand. He lightly kissed it and sighed deeply. It looked as though a weight has been lifted off his shoulder.
"Something don't feel right." Marcus mumbled in her ear.
Miya looked up at Marcus to see him staring at the door.
"What's wrong?" Miya whispered at him.
"I got a strong feeling that something bad is going to happen." Marcus looked down at her causing her to arch her brow.
"My Nanna is in the hospital Marcus, what do you mean?" Miya mugged up at him. He was being real inconsiderate as of right now.
"Whatever it is, you're great grandma told me to look after and you. So I think it's time for us to go." His voice was low and stern.
"Marcus I am not leaving my Nanna." Miya turned to look at him. She walked away from the bed and pulled him into the corner of the room, far from her grandparents. "What is wrong with you?"
"I'm only looking out for you Miya. I feel as though something is going to go down and I need to get you out this hospital as soon as possible."
Miya stared at Marcus and scoffed. "No, we'll leave when I feel like it Marcus so stop, please."
"Baby." Marcus sighed. "You know my intuition is always right. I need you to trust me on this one."
"My Nanna is in the hospital Marcus." Miya shook her head. She wasn't leaving until she was ready and right now, she wasn't.
Her and Marcus stared at each other before he ran his hands down his face. "Alright, I apologize. We'll leave when you're ready."
"Thank you." Miya turned on her heels and walked back to her grandma bed.
