Dave
He felt sick to him stomach and he didn't know why. Something didn't seem right and he couldn't pin point the problem. He sat on the floor confused as Ayanna braided his hair.
"Dave move your head to the right for me." She lightly tapped the side of his head.
Dave laid his head on her thigh and sighed heavily.
"Boy what is wrong with you?" She asked as she parted a section of his hair.
"I honestly don't know." Dave squinted at nothing in particular. "I feel as though something isn't right."
"Something like what?"
"I don't know." Dave licked on his lips. He closed one of his eyes in response to Ayanna starting the cornrow.
"Well have you check up on your mom?" She questioned.
"Yeah I spoke to her earlier today, she says that my uncle is having a dinner in a few weeks with one of his new business partners and that we're all invited." Dave glanced up at the tv and grabbed the remote from beside him. Maybe if he flipped through the channels it'll be able to come to him.
"What about Miya?"
That's when Dave eyes widen. The butterflies fluttered rapidly in his stomach and his palms began to sweat.
"Where's my phone?" Dave dropped the remote and held his hand out. Seconds later his phone was placed in his hand. He quickly went to his contacts and scrolled down to Miyas name. He pressed on it and put it on speaker.
The phone rang and at the very last ring the call was sent to voicemail. Dave mugged at the phone. He quickly ended the call and pressed her name again to recall.
At the very last ring her end had picked up again, but instead it wasn't her voice.
"What nigga?"
Dave looked at the phone and scoffed. "Who do you think you talking to?"
"Obviously you're the one calling." His voice was monotone surprisingly giving Dave the chills.
"Where's my cousin?" Dave asked. He needed answers.
A slight chuckle came from his end. "She's busy."
"Come on Mason stop playing with him. He just want to know how his cousin doing." Ayanna butted in as she took the phone from out his hand.
"Mason can't come to the phone right now. " He laughed lowly to himself before laughing louder.
"Ha, ha. Very funny Mason put Miya on the phone."
Dave turned to look at her and watched as she rolled her eyes in annoyance.
"Miya sweetie do you want to speak to your cousin?" He slightly paused. "She said no."
"I didn't hear her say anything." Dave snatched the phone back and stood to is feet. He was playing to many games.
"Look, you might as well go head and start planning her funeral because the bitch is half way dead anyway." He laughed.
Dave knew something was off about him and it sad that it took him so long to even figure it out.
"So what? You're killing my cousin just like you killed her ex?" Dave arched his brow.
"What ex do you speak of?"
"Now you know exactly who I'm talking about." Dave looked over at a confused Ayanna.
"I don't have times for these games, I have to handle this situation right here so she'll see you whenever she see you iight?" He was aggravated, Dave could tell by the aggression in his voice and the sudden ending of the call.
