Blue?

Grey...

Yep grey

"If you want to get lost in the depth of my eyes, at least don't wear such a dubious expression."

Zach brought me out of my reverie.
Wow Amelia. Considering you're the one with the 3 second staring rule, you sure have been staring at him at lengths.
I had spent the past 5 minutes deciding the color of Zach's eyes. A couple hours ago I could've sworn they were hazel but right now, I wasn't so sure.
Zach had arrived at Mazzala the Lebanese place a couple minutes before me and we had been waiting to get a spot for the past half hour. We knew this place was the 'in thing' but hadn't realized just how much. After sitting there doing absolutely nothing we soon ran out of small talk and quite soon patience as well. We decided to people-watch in the meanwhile, and I took that opportunity to watch the person who held my interest.
Zach was wearing a baby blue shirt, a shade darker than my own blouse, with faded jeans. His silky hair was blowing with the wind. I wish my hair was as silky straight as his. His hair was also not disgustingly long like most guys I knew. God knows I had to go through hell to get Aaron out of his Rapunzel phase. After much deliberation I came to the conclusion that the greyish blue tint in his eyes was in fact a result of his choice of clothing.

"You're doing it again. Am I really that handsome? Thanks I'm flattered!"

"You are actually."

That shut him up as he was clearly not expecting that. I say pay a compliment when it's due. I smiled brightly at him and he simply looked down rubbing the tip of his nose.

"You're not regretting coming here with me right? I really didn't think we'd have to wait this long."

Little did he know that this wait was a bonus for me. I couldn't have deliberately found a way to spend extra time with him, even if my life depended on it. I was planning on making the most of this time, I just hadn't figured out how yet.

"Nyuuu. It's fiine." I assured him.

"So... The basketball season is starting soon. You excited?"

At this he thought for a moment rubbing the tip of his nose. Nonono don't think. Don't be hesitant. This was supposed to be a sure shot successful conversation.

"Maybe."

Shit! One word answer!

"I'm not really crazy about basketball like the guys. Sure I enjoy it, but that's that. It's fun, healthy and looks good on applications."

A snort escaped me before I could think the better of it. Well who cares, he's heard my donkey laughter, this is much less embarrassing.

"Don't ever say that in front of Aaron!"

"I'm not stupid. 'hey cap! The sport you're busting ass for, I don't really care as much' not the smartest move right?"

I only heartily laughed at that. He started laughing seeing me laugh and then it turned into a cycle. After sobering down he suddenly turned his gaze down and I became a little conscious.

"Um.. so... Are you and Aaron like an item?"

Now where the hell did he get that idea! This time I legit lost it and started laughing my head off, and I could swear he looked a little relieved. The audience we had rendered didn't look that happy though.

"Umm so..."
"Hey listen"

We both spoke at the same time.

"Let's ditch this plan for today?"

I looked at him and I was afraid I looked positively dejected. Where'd that come from!

"Umm ok. You wanna leave then."

"Hey! Not like that. Like don't leave. Like don't go home. Um can we do something else instead?

Phew! Saved... And more time with Zach!
