I showered and went downstairs for some breakfast. I was so excited I barely ate but some cereal is better than no cereal, I guess. The premier was at 1pm, and it was 9am, so my mum made me do some school work for two hours, which I guess was a good thing because I hadn’t done any in a while. I half dragged my feet upstairs, to make a point that I wasn’t the most enthusiastic about school work and slumped down on my desk chair. I hadn’t realised that my phone was still next to my bed, which my mum usually takes off of me while I work so I hesitated whether or not to take it down to her, or whether to keep it.
I kept it, I’m a bad daughter. I feel ashamed.
I’ll get over it.
Not long into my work I got a message from Cody, then Alli. I hesitated, but read them because it was weird that they both texted me at the same time, maybe something was wrong?
Hey beautiful, the limo will pick you up at 12:30. Miss you <3
Han!! Which dress are you wearing? If you’re wearing the black one, I have the PERFECT shoes for you! xo
‘Okaay, miss you too <3<3’ I replied to Cody.
‘I have no idea which dress to wear!! Can you FaceTime? I need your expertise! xo’ I replied to Alli. I looked at the amount of work I had left to do… I guess I could do it tomorrow.
Sure thing! Gimme 5! xo Alli replied. I ran to my closet and grabbed the three dresses that I bought yesterday and put one of them on. It was a baby blue with black embellishments, which came down to around my knee. It was cute, but I guess I’m a novice on the whole public appearance type of thing. In all honesty… I had no clue what to wear. If I’d never seen these things on telly, I would probably go in my normal theatre attire, which is a hoodie and joggers.
My screen flashed Alli’s picture and made the annoying little ring that it does. I clicked answer and waited for Alli to come into focus.
‘Hey! Wow, that’s cute!’ Alli said, analysing my dress from head to toe. I ran over to my shoe rack and picked up the black heels I had bought at the mall the other day.
‘Do you think I should wear these with it?’ I said.
‘Possible, what show me your other dresses!’ She squealed.
I slipped into my closet and put my white lace, almost mini dress on and slipped back out into Alli’s view again.
‘Oh, I love that!’ She said.
‘I’ve got one more, but I don’t know if it’s a bit too… formal?’ I said.
‘Show me it!’ She said, clearly finding it hard to contain her excitement.
I pulled on my black, strapless maxi dress. It was scrunched up and one side, which was overshadowed by silver embellishments. It had a glittery effect, and it kind of swished when I walked. I loved it, and the more I stood at the closet mirror, the more I loved it. I opened the door of my closet in a dramatic motion and Alli laughed.
‘Oh. My. Gold. Coasts. Finest.’ Alli gawped.
‘It’s not too… showy?’ I said, sitting on my desk chair, which I had to raise because the dress was a little too long, so heels were a must with it.
‘It’s … perfect. Do you want to see the shoes?’ She said, leaving before I had time to say anything. She wheeled back into shot and violently stopped her chair with her foot.
‘Drum roll please.’ She laughed and dramatically thrust a pair of silver, Christian Louboutin classics. They were beautiful. I was a bit gobsmacked.
