Chapter Two

The plane bounced at incredible speed as the wheels hit tar. The flight attendants panicked as eager holidays makers began to stand up before the plane had come to a standstill. Then there was me, pinned to my seat. I don’t dislike flying but after a LONG flight I was afraid to stand in case my rear had moulded to the seat and I would forever have to walk round with a plane seat stuck to me.

I overthink things too much. That’s something you should know about me.

I stood up, seat free and grabbed my hand luggage, hitting a few people as I pulled it down, but they didn’t seem too disgruntled.

I hope.

After waiting for what seemed like hours in the heat, our bags finally emerged on the spinney thing. I have no idea what you call it.

LUGGAGE CONVEYER, that’s it!

Our taxi pulled up outside of our house. Well, when I say house, I mean flat. I took my luggage to my room and slumped on my bed. I stared at my room, it was gorgeous. I didn’t really have much time to sit and relax, because I was due at the movie set in an hour. I was meeting all of the directors and crew and seeing the set before next week, when I officially start filming. I was also getting measured for costumes and the most important thing, the script. I opened my case and took out the outfit that I’d planned to wear when I was back in England. It needed a bit of ironing, but apart from that it was enough to make a good first impression.

About three quarters of an hour later, a small limo appeared outside. They had sent a limo, for me.

No. Way.

After jumping around on the spot for the best part of a minute, I grabbed everything I needed and went to the door. The driver got out and held the door for me, and I thanked him. This was not happening, I’m just an ordinary girl, I shouldn’t get limos at my door, even if it is a small one. My mum climbed in behind me, although she was more bothered by the fact that there were no seatbelts. She’s crazy sometimes.

LOL.

It didn’t take long to get to the movie set. It was very crowded, there were people running everywhere. I felt a little out of my comfort zone seeing as the biggest things I’d ever been in where the school productions and a role in a TV series that lasted one episode. I’m that good.

There was only one other girl that I could see on the set, and she looked around my age.

‘Go and make some friends.’ Mum snarled, attempting to find ways to safety proof the limo.

I’m quite socially awkward, ie: I avoid people at most costs, especially if I KNOW them, and the list could go on.

I walked over to the mysterious girl and she turned round. She was absolutely flawless. Like, flawless.

‘Hey!’ She said. Wow, that was easy.

‘Um, hey! Are you in the movie too?’ I said, trying to sound … normal.

‘Yeah, I’m Alli!’ She said.

‘Hannah.’ I smiled.

I’m so awkward I’m pretty sure that if there was a scale of awkwardness, I would be too awkward and have to live in the hole of extreme awkwardness. My life.

‘So, what part are you playing?’ Alli said. She had an Australian accent that wasn’t really strong but was recognisable. It sounded nice.

‘Just a small part, I’m only in a few scenes but I think I have quite a few lines.’ I smiled, awkwardly shuffling from one foot to another, making it look like I needed the loo.

‘Oh cool! I’ve got quite a big part this time, are you nervous?’ She smiled. She was quite easy to talk to, which was nice.

‘I am a little bit; I’ve never done anything like this before! How about you?’ I asked.

We chatted for the next hour whilst other people were arriving and the directors were preparing to introduce themselves, etc.

After getting my script and meeting some other cast members, it was time to leave. We had been there about 4 hours, so I expect my mum to have completely refurbished the limo and sterilised it to within an inch of its life, so I decided to head back.

‘Bye Alli!’ I said, waving behind me.

‘See you next week Hannah!’ She smiled, before returning to her conversation.

I climbed in the limo.

‘Yep, see you next week!’ I said quietly.
