The week went quite quickly, I spent most of it getting to know LA and learning lines. Not very exciting really.
It soon came round to Sunday and I began preparing for the next day. We would have to leave early – ish in the morning, to give us time to get to the set, find the right dressing room, etc, etc. I was quite nervous for some unknown reason, probably because I’d eaten Italian food, which for some reason affects my brains ability to control nerves.
Yes you did read that right, Italian food makes me nervous.
I’d only met Alli and one other cast member last week, so I guess the fact that I would meet all of them tomorrow made me nervous as well, because you’ve probably picked up on the fact that I am incredibly socially awkward by now.
It was nearly 10pm, and I thought it would be sensible to go to sleep now, to avoid falling asleep whilst on set tomorrow. I got into bed and fell asleep instantly.
‘Hannah, HANNAH!’ I heard somebody scream. It was my mum. She was leant over my bed yelling directly in my face and I was glad I’d woken up before she’d started shaking me.
‘I’m up, I’m up!’ I said, sitting up.
‘You overslept! The limo is coming in 20 minutes.’ She said, before leaving my room.
Oh fudge nuggets.
Fudge. Nuggets.
I ran downstairs and got some breakfast, so I wouldn’t starve before running and getting dressed.
I was pulling on my shoe when the limo pulled up. I hopped downstairs, pulling my other shoe on and grabbed my bag. Mum insisted on coming with me, I don’t really know why seeing as all she’d do is sit andwatch. But I was in no mood to argue with her after the angry side she showed when waking me.
She shut the door and I walked over to the limo. I climbed in and thanked the driver, who was giving me an odd look. Then I realised I hadn’t brushed my hair.
Brilliant.
Luckily I had a hair brush in my bag from ages ago so I frantically brushed it in the limo. When we arrived, I assumed it looked okay as nobody stared at me.
I searched for my dressing room, which I would be sharing with another cast member, but I didn’t yet know who.
After about ten minutes trying to find it, I well, found it.
‘Alli Simpson & Hannah Clayton.’
Well thank the skies for that.
I walked in and saw Alli sat having her hair styled.
‘Hey!’ She laughed.
‘Hey!’ I smiled before dumping my bag down next to Alli’s. I went and sat in the empty stylist chair next to Alli and the stylist started on my hair.
‘How funny that we share a dressing room!’ Alli said, smiling.
‘I didn’t expect to be with somebody I knew! I’m really glad though!’ I replied.
We sat and chatted for a while whilst the stylists did their work before having our costumes for our first scene in. During our chat, I found out that I would be playing Alli’s characters sister in the movie, meaning I would be in most scenes with her. Which was a really good thing.
I wasn’t in the first scene with her seeing as she had one of the main parts, I wasn’t in until the third scene but it was fun watching all of the other cast members act and have fun.
There was a break between the second and third scene for lunch, so Alli and I walked back to our dressing room. She’d just done a hectic dance scene, yet still looked perfect. If it had been me, I would have been crawling along the floor, crying. Probably dying as well, just to throw that into the mix.
