‘You’re so beautiful Hannah.’ He said, putting my hair behind my ear. I couldn’t help but blush.
‘Thank you handsome.’ I replied.
‘And since this never happened, I want to give you this.’ He said, reaching into his pocket and pulling out the promise ring. I held out my hand and he put it on my finger. I smiled at him.
‘Did you carry that around with you all this time?’ I giggled, putting my arms around his neck and linking my hands at the back.
‘Well, since we arrived in England, yes! I was kind of hoping that I’d bump into you somewhere, I missed you!’ He replied. I blinked to stop myself from crying.
‘I missed you too, quite a lot!’ I said and he smiled at me.
‘Would you do the honour of accompanying me to my concert tomorrow evening, Miss Clayton? And Alli would love to see Mel!’ He giggled.
‘My, of course Mr Simpson, and I’m sure Melanie will be thrilled!’ I replied in the same fashion.
‘Splendid!’ He winked and he took my hand. We began walking down the hill and he put his arm around me. I rested my head on his shoulder and we walked like that up until Mel’s house.
‘I will see you tomorrow, pick you up at six?’ He said, pulling me into a hug.
‘Sure thing.’ I said, resting my forehead on his. We stayed like that for about a minute before breaking off.
‘I love you.’ He whispered in my ear.
‘I love you too.’ I replied and he walked off. He got about half way down the street when he turned and blew me a kiss. I pretend caught it and held it to my heart. I was uncontrollably smiling when I walked in to Mel’s house.
‘How did it go?’ Mel shouted whilst she ran down the stairs. I held up my hand and showed her the ring that had returned to my finger. She lurched forward and hugged me and I squealed with happiness.
‘I’m so happy for you, this is perfect!’ She said, jumping around on the spot.
‘I love you Mel! And by the way, how does going to a concert tomorrow night sound?’ I said, pulling two backstage passes that Cody had given me out of my pocket.
‘No freaking way!’ She said as she stood in awe of the laminated cards.
‘Take that as a yes then?’ I said sarcastically and she laughed.
‘Hell yes!’ She replied. ‘We have to decide what to wear!’ She said, grabbing my hand and pulling me up the stairs. I didn’t have any time to argue because I was upstairs and had the contents of Mel’s wardrobe piled on me before I could blink.
‘How about this?’ She said as she held up and outfit to me.
‘Too formal.’ I replied.
‘This?’
‘Too… gym?’ I said, not knowing if that was the right word but I think she knew what I meant.
‘How about this?’ She said, holding out a gorgeous skirt with a vest top and cardigan.
‘Perfect!’ I said, admiring the outfit. ‘Just perfect!’
‘Good!’ She said, hanging it back up again and leaving the rest of her wardrobe sprawled out all over the place.
‘I’m off to shower! Don’t trip over anything.’ She winked, gesturing to the clothes on her floor. I laughed and decided it would be safest just to stay on the bed. I took out my phone and saw that I had a message from Cody.
‘Just wanted to let you know I love you and I’m so happy things are back to how they should be! Never want to leave you baby, I love you! <3’
Well, with that, I burst out crying. Happy tears, so many happy tears.
‘Forever, I love you<3’
I replied. It was the best I could come up with, seeing as I was temporarily blinded by the tears.
Forever.
