A Beast in the Forbidden Forest

JACK

The man in the picture was tall and lean, his robes were made of pitch black sand, his skin gray and his eyes were gold in color. Surrounding him were black horses with equally golden eyes and like the wizard's robes, they were made out of sand.

"Pitch Black?"

"SHHH!! Don't speak his name!"

"Why? What happens if-" Jack has definitely heard of him before. Not the name, though. Just about his name that must not be spoken.

"It's him, isn't it?"

"Is what him?"

"Professor North had told me about this man before. He was a Slytherin like me."

"...Pitch Black, also known as the bogeyman and Nightmare King, is one of the most dangerous and deadliest dark wizards of all time. He was defeated by a famous young wizard who bravely fought for the freedom of the Wizarding World," this earned a "woah" from Merida, "Although many believed that the Nightmare King will once again "reborn" and 4 young wizards will be the only ones who can destroy the bogeyman once and for all according to the prophecy, which until now remains a mystery."

Below the short introduction, a painting of 4 shadows is illustrated. One of the silhouettes was holding a bow and an arrow, one with some kind of a dragon, one holding a golden flower and the last had a snowflake floating in his hand. None of which showed their genders.

Jack touched the painted snowflake. "Now that I think about it, he resembles you." Merida said.

"I resemble to Pitch Black?"

"No, the stranger in the painting," she said, pointing to the silhouette, "...or it could be Elsa...but why? if ever it was either the two of you. Why you?" Merida looked at him.

Jack stared at her eyes only to see pure curiosity. About to tell her that that's absolutely ludicrous, Professor Bunnymund had arrived to cut him off, "What are you two doing? Get back to work!"

"My my, Jack Frost sitting in the library reading a book. I wouldn't miss that for the world."

Jack closed the book, raising a brow at Rapunzel. "Really, you wouldn't?" he teased. "Well I guess I should continue reading, if that ever so pleases you."

She stopped as she dropped her things on the table, eyes not leaving Jack's. She grimaced playfully, "Okay, now you've crossed a line."

"Sorry," Jack scratched the back of his head.

"What'ya doin so early here?"

"Detention."

"Yeah, like you'll be in a library if not for detention."

Jack frowned. "What were you reading anyway?" She pushed the book up to see the cover, "16th-century Fiends."

"Snatched it from the restricted section."

"Restricted section?!"

"Shhh!"

"Jack, you do know that's illegal right?"

"Don't worry, it's not like I won't put it back. Just a few more pages..."

"If you ever get caught-"

"We won't get caught-"

"There's no 'we'."

"Come on, let's read it together. It's so interesting, it's about the past enemies of the Wizarding World, including dark witches and wizards." Jack flipped through the pages until he stopped at the Nightmare King's page. "This one got my attention from all of them. I just thought maybe you're the right person to ask more about him."
