Snow Globe
HICCUP
Everything was a jumbled mess in Hiccup's mind after that. For one thing, he saw a whole new side of Astrid last night. She comes of as cold and hard-nosed especially when facing overwhelming challenges. But yesterday, that was replaced by a rather sweet and endearing personality. Hiccup was astonished by how mature Astrid took it all. It was hard for her to believe it at first, seeing how the kid she and friends used to pick on all the time has managed to befriend a dragon...something considered to be even more challenging that killing one. For that, he earned all her respect. It was Merida he's worried about, she wasn't pleased with the news.
He knew that once professor North finds out about Toothless, he'd be sent straight to-not to Berk, but to Romania, where he'd be far away from him for good. If only there's a way to hide him, Hiccup would do it in a heartbeat. Toothless has become his friend...his best friend in fact. When everybody else seemed distant, it was Toothless he reached out to. But if North does find out about Toothless, he hoped he'd only be sent off to Berk. At least that way he'd still get to see him frequently.
Another thing that keeps bothering Hiccup's thoughts, is the fact that he found Toothless bound with ropes, who could have captured him? Yes, it was believed that the prophecy spoke about him, A boy with a night fury. But any boy could have a night fury, right?
Right?
Or could it be because of the Death Eaters from the river before? Could they be the reason behind Toothless's downfall?
Was it all planned after all this time?
"The boy with the night fury...who would've guessed?" Merida said abruptly, settling herself beside Hiccup along the wooden railings of the bridge, and there she watched the sunset with him.
Hiccup scoffed, his eyes locked to the sky, "The girl with the skill of archery...everyone would've guessed it." He smiled.
Merida stayed silent for a moment, fishing for the right words to say, she had to admit that she was struggling, "That—That's what you've been hiding from us? A dragon?" She said calmly.
"Yup." Hiccup said briefly. He didn't feel like speaking at the moment. He was too occupied with his thoughts–problems rather. So far, Merida's not even close into comforting him, and the way she's reacting is not helping either. He sensed a hint of disgust and disappointment, but perhaps it was only him who was thinking that. It was inevitable though. Perhaps he was trying to feel disappointed before Merida can say it out loud.
"Hiccup...I have to admit, that was..."
Here we go.
"...That was pretty brave of you." she said.
Immediately, his head turned towards the red-head. Her ocean blue eyes were staring back at him with pure sincerity. He has misjudged her. He almost felt the tears, that he has long been gathering from inside, well up as he heard her words.
"I feel proud! Like, wow, Hiccup has a Night Fury. You were always this scrawny-li'l-kid-from-Hufflepuff and ye managed to tame and ride a dragon," Merida said with pure amazement.
"Train...a dragon is more like it."
"I don' understand why ye should feel upset or anythin'," she added.
"Who said I was upset?"
"Hic, it's written all over yer face," she said. "Seriously what's wrong? What are ye worried abou'?"
