Polyjuice PotionMERIDA
She and Jack hadn't talked about last night since that moment. But she was sure Jack will be up on it sooner or later. It's just a good thing they didn't get caught last night.
Right now, she found herself back by the doorway of the Divination classroom. Unlike before, it was completely closed, with the same sign hanging on the doorknob. Perhaps professor Syrma had learned her lesson. It didn't hinder Merida from knocking and letting herself in though.
The old professor was surprisingly just sitting on a table while sipping on her cup of tea peacefully. The talking black crow was on its usual place atop of the wooden statue. Townend's whole eye and body language showed as though she was expecting Merida's arrival. "Tea, dear?" She asked.
"Uh, no thank you, professor," Merida said. Sheepishly, she tapped her left and right index finger together, and cautiously approached her. "I just came to visit ye, ma'am. How are ye?"
Townend set her tea aside, "Oh, how sweet. I don't have many students who so much care about how I am. I probably have no students like that all. How very thoughtful of you, dear."
"So, you're not okay," Merida concluded.
The old professor waved her off, "Nonsense. Come and take a seat."
The redhead sat on the chair across her, stiffly. "I just want to thank you, professor."
Her eye brows scrunched up together, showing every line on her face, "For what, dear?"
"For helping us. Me and Jack." The truth is. Merida had zero clue how to thank professor Syrma at all. But then again, it could be anyone. She's a professor after all, it's her duty to protect the students. Yet, she couldn't help but to feel guilty. Townend wouldn't have been involved in the fight if it wasn't for her stubborness. In fact, none of it would have happened if she just listened to Townend. Or so that's what she thought.
"It's not just your fight too, you know," Townend said, "You may be The Big Four and all. But we all have the same enemy here. I just hope, Ms. Dunbroch, that you should've listened to my advice in the first place." She didn't sound angry, but she was serious with the last part.
"If I hadn't found the wisps, Aye wouldn't have known abou' the prophecy," Merida shrugged, almost like she's challenging her.
"If you hadn't followed the wisps, then the Death Eaters wouldn't have been able to take your blood. There are other ways how you can see the prophecy," Townend pointed out.
Merida took a minute or so before responding, "Do ye know whae they need our blood, professor?"
"It's not yet clear to us why, Townend started, "Originally, the Boogeyman had only wanted, more than anything, is the golden flower. Which has the power to bring him back to the flesh. But once it was no longer within arm's reach, suppose he'd thought of an alternative. A ritual of some sort, and he needed your blood to complete it. It's the only other thing that fits the bill."
"And by 'your blood', you mean all four of us?"
"Why of course, otherwise it's all for nothing."
"Then I supposed he failed, they haven't had Hiccup's yet," Merida said. She was lighting up with hope.
"Then I suggest you must do well to protect him," Townend pressed, leaning forwards.
