October Fourth
JACK
Jack and Merida had tended back to their library task. They weren't assigned in the restricted section anymore, they were assigned in the invisibility section. The books in the library do need to be cleaned up.
He and the red-head had finished the first aisle, just as before his tutor session with Rapunzel started.
"Mer, do you still have the letter from Bunnymund?" Jack asked, remembering that they won't be able to get the book without permission.
"I do, but madam Hattie would know we're not assigned in the Restricted Section anymore, wouldn't she?" Merida looked around and nodded at him, "Alright, let's try."
After five minutes of convincing, they were finally in the restricted section once more, searching for the "16th Century Fiends" book. The night blue-colored book stood out among the more golden and green-colored books. It was weird of him to think it felt like it was calling out for him.
Merida insisted she gets the second aisle started while Rapunzel tutors Jack.
He waited for his tutor while arranging all the other books she had asked him to find. It includes Herbology, Charms and most importantly Potions (so that he won't have to rely on Hiccup forever). All three books were thicker than the desk he was on, he could tell they wouldn't be able to finish three books in thirty minutes...which he's thankful for. Not only does he get to learn about wand dueling but also less books and studying. Rather thirty minutes than two hours.
Rapunzel's hair was different than usual. It was slightly tied up by, what he can see, is a very thick ponytail which rather looked slimy and green. She wasn't looking at him, but she knew where he'd be at...at their usual spot beside the Invisibility section.
Jack watched her take the books he had prepared, rummaging through the pages.
"Observe the Jackson Overland in its unnatural habitat," he said, which made the blonde look and smile, "I thought I'd seen everything."
"Threats of detention with Bunnymund have driven him here, and now he risks extinction!" when Rapunzel laughed, he turned to face her with his chin on his hand. "I should do this more often."
"Do what more often?"
"Making jokes."
"Why?" she asked, "To make you laugh. I don't see you laugh," he said, laying both his palms on the desk.
"I do laugh. One of my classmates in Ravenclaw always makes me laugh...never mind. Anyway, d'you find the book?"
As much as he wanted to know who that Ravenclaw was, he thought it wasn't the right time to ask. He handed out the book to her. She was looking at it with such familiarity, "This was the book you dropped."
"Before? My first detention?"
"Yeah," she said.
"I was in the restricted section...What were you doing there? Did you have a note?"
She gulped, "Yes I had a note of permission. What, you'd think I would sneak in the restricted section? Besides, professor Toothiana had given me the permission."
Jack decided to let it go. "Yeah, it's weird then, I've dropped that book twice. Coincidence?"
"May or may not be a coincidence," she said, flipping through the pages until she gets to the boogeyman. "Pitch Black...boogeyman and Nightmare King...one of the most dangerous and deadliest dark wizards of all time. He was defeated by a famous young wizard who bravely fought for the freedom of the Wizarding World. Although many believed that the Nightmare King will once again be "reborn" and 4 young wizards will be the only ones who can destroy the boogeyman once and for all according to a prophecy..."
