YESTERDAY WAS AMAZING
It was my birthday yesterday, September 2nd, and I invited a bunch of people over to my house to attempt to play volleyball and go swimming in my cold pool and stuff our faces with pizza and cake.
I invited Charlotte, Evie, Eliza, Tara, Janelle, Cody, and Jessica to my house. I was expecting Cody to feel uncomfortable around just girls but he was fine, thankfully. The party was a lot of fun and I enjoyed torturing everyone (well a few people) with my "terrible screamo playlist."
My mom wouldn't let me have everyone sleep over so I secretly asked just Jessica and Janelle to stay the night and Cody stayed until 10:30. Everyone else left at 9:00.
Am I mean for doing that?
Janelle couldn't get over the fact that she's older than me. Somehow she didn't know and kept bringing it up. Our town's cutout is a bit late and so I am actually the youngest in the grade. Oh well...
Things got way better and stranger at 9:30. Everyone was on an extreme sugar high from excessive cake and soda and Cody was literally bouncing off the walls. At one point he did some crazy parkour kick off my wall and almost snapped his neck. All three of us couldn't stop laughing for a solid ten minutes.
Then we binge watched music videos on my TV after I hooked up my mom's laptop to the TV. It was the wildest dance party I've ever been in...
Then at almost 10:00 they told me they had something special planned.
I told them I knew about it and I was super excited for the surprise. Apparently I wasn't supposed to know there even was a surprise. Cody and Jessica instantly turned to Janelle and said "Janelllllllle... Did you tell her?" In a warning tone, waiting for an explanation. She laughed and said she couldn't hold it in.
Janelle handed me a small envelope that simply read "Ciara <3" in purple ink on it. I carefully peeled it open and pulled out a folded piece of paper. I unfolded it and had to read it three times to make sure I was seeing things correctly.
Four tickets to see Fall Out Boy in October for their MANIA tour.
I just looked up at Jessica, Cody, and Janelle in front of me. Jessica was beaming, Cody was seconds away from hugging me, and Janelle had her hand in fists and was scrunching her freckled nose, holding back squeals.
I just muttered two words in shock: "Is this..."
Janelle let out her squeals while Jessica jumped up and down. Cody went in for a hug before explaining it was Janelle's idea.
"We have been holding this secret since late June!" Janelle spilled, gushing with excitement. I hugged her tight and saidu thank you a hundred times.
"Seriously, you three are the best friends ever. I love you all." I said before hugging them all. "I feel bad though, you must have spent a lot of money on them."
Cody laughed and joked about how it sounded like I was quoting the end of Yule Shoot Your Eye Out.
"Don't worry about it Ciara, you're worth it! And to be honest the seats were like forty something dollars so we split it evenly." Jessica told me, smiling.
"Yeah uh... they're not the best seats ever but that's what happens when you wait a long time to buy tickets..." Janelle said.
But I really don't care. As long as I'm with the three of them and IN THE SAME ROOM AS PATRICK, JOE, ANDY, AND PETE THEN I'M MORE THAN HAPPY.
