CHAPTER 2-Endings

Sitting there I feel like my barely existent internship at my dream job had just ended. What the hell was wrong with me? The normal sane me hardly had time to drool at guys or "distractions" as I always called them.

I sat there for what felt like ages feeling so angry with myself till I heard Sindy call my name after a call. "Luthando! Mr Bloom will see you now in his office follow me."
I stood up silently and followed her hoping and praying that by some miracle I still had my post. I took a big gulp of air like it was my last before we entered the office.

Sindy gave me an apologetic smile before she left me alone with Mr Bloom. I suddenly felt so tiny not because of his huge office but because of the man that stood before me and the way he looked at me.

"Have a seat Miss Mkhize", he said after a while of him studying me like a specimen under a microscope. I hurriedly sat down.
"Looking at your resume,you quite good scores on your degree..." ,he said still studying me, "...so what led to you spacing out at the meeting?".

Oh no! How do I answer that? How do I tell him I was caught off guard because I was so lost in those eyes and the way those lips moved as he said his words emphasising that cute dimple...

"Miss Mkhize!!"...I am abruptly pulled to reality and I feel so embarrassed that I did it once again. "Are you OK?", I notice the anger in his eyes has softened a bit. "I'm OK ", I say digging my nails into my palms trying to distract myself before I zone out again. "I am sorry I am a bit star struck, working here has always been such a dream and its an honour that I was chosen to be an intern here.", I half lie. "You need to focus then, I will place you with the marketing team. Whatever they say you do, that should help gain experience and see how things are done", he said while picking up the phone. " Sindy send Dave" he said and then hung up. " Dave is head of marketing and you will be shadowing him".
With that being said Dave walked in dressed casually. "Dave this is Luthando an intern and she will be working with you". I could have sworn I saw Dave clench his jaw but he just nodded and simply said "follow me".

"I cannot believe he made me babysit", I hear Dave mutter under his breath as we enter his office. "OK listen to me kid, I don't have time for this! You may sit in on our brain storming sessions and meetings but silently, no word from you ok ?"
I nod too scared to speak. "Good! First job for today, make me kid these copies I will need them for a meeting later. Copy room is first door to the right." I take the papers glad I can leave his hateful glare a bit, how the hell will I survive the six months?
