she had stars in her eyes and galaxies in her heart. too bad no one ever takes interest in astrology anymore, or they would have noticed the way that her smile is brighter than the sun or how her eyes are the colour of the moon on a cloudy night. and maybe, if they used a telescope, they could notice the way her eyes twinkle more than the stars themselves do.

even if someone was to simply take interest in science, they'd notice how her emotions crash and burn like a meteor shower and the way her body droops when she's sad like hot magma dripping down a volcano.

imagine if someone was to take interest in an english class. they'd realize that poems are written all over her skin and that she speaks the language of love. they'd finally understand the pain she feels as she writes her poems late at night. they'd finally understand how writing destroys her and makes her stronger at the same time.

even better, imagine if someone was to pay attention in a math class. they'd finally make sense of the complicated addition problem called me plus you. they'd realize how much of an odd and poorly built equation it is. they'd be able to add up all the times they broke her heart, and subtract the times they forgot to kiss her goodnight and left her to go to sleep feeling unwanted. they'd be able to recognize that she's not an even number; she's an odd one. and that she's not an easy addition equation, she's the complex algebra equation that you spend hours working on yet never seem to get anywhere.
