he says he is a broken tree branch of a boy who hangs off of others while fulfilling no purpose. he says if i was to see him naked i would not see a body but instead a corpse.

and all i can think about is how on humid days his hair always curls around his head like a halo and when the sun shifts through it, the shadows cast artwork on his glistening cheek bones, about how he always chews on something while he's thinking and how it's beautiful when you can tell how deeply he's listening, about how when he sneezes he always blushes afterwards because he doesn't like the sound it makes or how he always has to get intoxicated to write good essays or how his backpack is always kind of messy.

i don't know how to tell him that without flaws he wouldn't be himself.

and how do you explain to someone that what they see as the worst parts of themselves makes them that much more worthy of loving?
