Park Eun-gi confessed to the three murders and said he would have killed the others who got the promotion that he didn't if we wouldn't have stopped him. He also said something else that was very interesting and unusual. He was crying in the interrogation room when he blurted out that he would have never done it if he wouldn't have convinced him. My coworkers didn't seem to notice that, but Baekhyun did and the look on his face instantly explained that was the only reason he agreed to help us on this case.

Park Eun-gi was talked in to murdering by someone and Baekhyun was looking for that person.

'' Time to celebrate! ''

I snapped out of my thoughts and looked at my coworkers with a smile. They were putting on their jackets and deciding where to go have dinner. It was a tradition of our team to go eat and drink soju after we closed a case and this time it wasn't any different.

I couldn't help it but to laugh at the sight of Sehun urging Xiumin to come with us. '' Come on, boss! You never want to come along, but you always do and have fun in the end! ''

'' I really can't go this time cause I promised my wife to come home early for a family dinner and- '' Xiumin began and dismissively waved with his hands through the air before he suddenly stopped. He narrowed his eyes and glared at the young investigator. '' Boss? In the three years we've worked together, you never called me boss. You even called me 'Xiumin-ah' once. Wait, it's your turn to pay for the food and alcohol this time and you don't have money, do you! ''

'' That's not true! Not at all! '' Sehun innocently objected, but I could see him looking for another target. Soon he was already whining: '' Hye-rin Noona! You know you are the prettiest woman ever, right? ''

'' I know I am, but forget it, '' the blonde woman instantly shot back. She was looking at her hand mirror and adjusting her red lipstick. '' I'm already coming along only for a few drinks, because I'm meeting somebody for dinner later. Stop being cheap and just whip out your wallet, boy. ''

Sehun sighed with disappointment and I chuckled in amusement before my eyes wondered to Baekhyun. He was putting his jacket back on and looking as serious as ever. The case was over and he was preparing to disappear out of our lives, just as suddenly as he appeared in them. I would say that I wasn't the slightest bit sad about it, but I would be lying. He was a serious and cold person, but with him we managed to solve the murder case in just a day. I could certainly tell why he was such a successful investigator.

'' Yah, former boss! '' I called, making him raise his head and turn in my direction. I smiled and asked: '' You want to go have jajangmyeon and soju with us? Before we part ways? ''

His nose scrunched up and he replied: '' I would accept, but... Well no, honestly I wouldn't accept, cause I'm really not one for things like these, but I actually have something else to do. I would also say that it was fun working with you, but I would be lying. Interesting, I'll give you that. Goodbye now and try not to kill too many of your brain cells with alcohol. Let's hope the future doesn't bring us together again. ''

With that he walked past me and the rest of my coworkers. I was left standing there with a dumbfounded expression on my face. My mouth was hung open with shock and I watched him get in the elevator. He gazed in my direction and at the sight of the smug smirk on his face, I couldn't help it but to scream: '' Rude jerk! ''

His smirk turned in to a frown, while I triumphantly grinned and looked at my coworkers.

Yixing raised his eyebrows and emotionlessly said: '' Didn't you tell me that he was going to warm up to us? ''
