Christmas special

There were a lot of things that one could be doing on Christmas Eve. Some of the people that I knew had a lovely dinner with their family. Others were following their tradition of exchanging gifts. My parents were one of those who decided to go on vacation and boarding a plane to go somewhere warm. Two workaholic doctors like them going to Hawaii was a true Christmas miracle, for both me, because I was worried that they would overwork themselves and Baekhyun, who was terrified the whole past week that he'll be forced to sit through an awkward Christmas family dinner.

'' I hate Christmas. I still haven't bought a present for your mother and I completely forgot about the stupid secret santa gift exchange that we are doing at the station, '' Baekhyun muttered and stepped out of his Lamborghini. 

I chuckled in amusement and replied: '' Oh, how I love to spend Christmas with you. I can feel the spirit of the holidays just radiating from you. I also can't believe we almost managed to decorate the tree. I really thought that we were going to make it, but of course a murder had to happen and ruin our first Christmas as a couple. ''

'' Tell me about it, '' Xiumin, who appeared from his own car joined the conversation. There was a scarf wrapped around his neck, he was shivering because of the cold wind and frowning. It seemed like he was in a particularly bad mood that morning.

'' Another one who is an accurate representation of the Christmas spirit! '' I said and grinned at the sight of his annoyed face. '' Am I the only one here who actually likes Christmas? ''

'' You might want to hold back that thought, '' Baekhyun muttered and pointed ahead of us.

The three of us all raised our heads and looked in that direction. I instantly noticed what, or who he was pointing at. Standing behind the police tape and having a casual discussion were Jongdae and Sehun. They were watching something on one of their phones, talking and completely ignoring the strange looks that the other policemen were giving them. The three of us stared at them for a few moments and it looked like Xiumin was seriously debating if he should ask the police chief for another team as his Christmas present. Bekhyun's head was slightly tilted to the side in disbelief and I was standing next to him, covering my mouth with my hand and trying to hold back my laughter.

'' It took you three long enough to get here! ''  Sehun accusingly said when he noticed us, crossed his arms on his chest and shook his head with disapproval.

Xiumin raised an eyebrow and lowly asked: '' Is there any particular reason why you two idiots are dressed like Santa and  a reindeer? ''

Jongdae touched the fake reindeer antlers on his head, while Sehun thoughtfully stroked his cheap looking white beard and muttered: '' We were in the middle of something when you called us and said that there was a murder. Also, you have to see this. I know how much you love Christmas, so I'm sure you'll adore this case. ''

The dressed up duo lead us to the murder scene and I was left shaken by the sight. Laying on the snow in the middle of the park, was a man dressed like Santa and there was a knife sticking out from his stomach. His body was covered with bruises and there was a bloodied sack of presents next to him. Xiumin was opening and closing his mouth and trying to find the right words to say, Baekhyun was glaring at me from the side, clearly angry that we didn't ignore the phone this morning and I gasped with shock and pointed at our victim. '' Santa is dead?! '' 

Hye-rin, who was squatted by the dead body slowly stood up and looked at us. Her long blonde hair was tied in to two braids and she was wearing the expensive diamond earrings her fiancee got her. '' Santa isn't real, Hajin-ah, but this is quite funny. I'll be able to tell you more about the exact time of death and other things like that after I take him back to the lab, but for now I can say that he died because he got stabbed and... Beaten up with that bag of presents over there. ''
