Grey had just finished his night shift when his phone started to ring.
It didn't help the fact that Grey had to come to work 5 hours earlier than usual, or the fact his work was to deal with angry people. So picking up the phone he couldn't help but answer in an agitated voice.
"Hello?"
"Hi!"
Most of the time Grey could care less about how happy or sad a voice was, but today was not his day and he snapped.
"listen, If this is another one of those dumb prank calls you video just to get views, find someone else, I'm uninterested and tired. And the audacity you have to do this to people is astounding. Some people are tired and want to live on with their lives so I suggest you do the same and move on."
"Oh... I'm sorry... I'm Midnight."
Oddly the name sounded familiar but Grey brushed it off and calmed himself down to continue talking to the overly-bubbly girl who now seemed to mellow down.
"Okay, how can I help you Midnight?"
"I... Um... I'm sorry for calling I thought you would be just as nice as you were on new year's- NOT that I'm saying you have to adjust to me- I mean- I guess it would be nice if you were nice- BUT like I said I'm sorry and I didn't know this was a bad time." Midnight, (or so that's what she calls herself) stuttered out, making Grey feel quite guilty.
"Listen Midnight, I'm sorry if I lashed out. Now is just not the time okay? You seem like a nice and friendly person, but I think you shouldn't call strangers."
"I've been told." Midnight muttered softly while adding an apology.
"I'm sorry for bothering, I'll go." She said almost sorrowfully and even though Grey didn't knew the girl he felt guilty.
"Bye-"
""WAIT-"
"Yes?" Almost immediately Midnight's voice perked up.
Sighing Grey thought about what he would do and how much consequences there would be. But it would be nice to at least make a person happy.
"How about.... How about you call next time, is that okay?" He asked with hesitancy.
"Perfect! That's perfect! Thanks....?"
Laughing softly Grey laughed.
"Grey."
