"Why would you do that?" Midnight's laughter reached his ears causing him to laugh too. She was right, the only reason he didn't like high school was because of the dumb things he did.

' And the memories they held.' He thought, but didn't say anything.

"Honestly Grey, if you were my classmate we would get along so well." She told him, while laughing.

"Really? Why?" Grey couldn't help but ask.

"Because if you would do something that dumb in high school, I would do it too. " Grey couldn't help but smile at that.

Perfect. She was absolutely and incredibly perfect.

"Besides! You would be like, my idol. Anything dumb you'd ever do, I would make it dumber."

"Really now?" Grey asked in a teasing manner, which also quite shocked him, considering he wasn't exactly this teasing.

"Definitely! It's always been a thing of mine, to copy someone's other work, but then adding my little flare." Midnight answered not noticing the teasing voice of Grey.

Grey sighed.

It felt so long since he actually was.... Content. But hearing this girl's voice, her laughter, heck, even her breathing... It made him feel happy and enough.

He actually felt enough for someone.

"Grey? ..." Midnight's voice trailed as she noticed he sudden mood change of Grey.

"Yes?"

"Let's talk." Grey couldn't help but laugh at that.

"Midnight... We're already talking."

"I know, but I mean, like... A 20 questions game." Grey's eyebrows rose, but before he could comment about it, Midnight started stuttering.
"Not the 'I'm-trying-to-get-into-your-pants' one, just one where we talk. It's does to even have to limit itself to 20 questions! And-"

Grey chuckled. "I get it Midnight, don't worry." He couldn't help but coo the last two words. And from what he could tell, Midnight was somewhat flustered and embarrassed.

"Thanks, Grey."

"Okay. You ask me first, whatever you want to know. "

"Okay... What's your... Whole name?" She asked slowly as if he would be triggered by something. This made him smile. Midnight was always careful around and to other people. She knew how easy it was to hurt someone, and Grey couldn't help but smile at how thoughtful she was being.

"Grey Ándres Bonifacio."

"No way! Like the Filipino hero!?" He could hear Midnight's voice risen, causing him to chuckle.

"Yes way, like the Filipino hero. So you must like Filipino culture?"

"Like Filipino culture? DUDE, I am Filipino!" She said happily, her voice filled with glee.

And Grey grinned.

It was so simple to think Midnight would be someone. But he never knew she was his blood. Someone who could relate to his culture. To their culture, but whether or not if she was Filipino, Grey knew he would liked her.

"That's so cool! I remembered feeling like I was the only Filipino here! No one could speak my dialect, and I had to change my thoughts on Filipino history. It's actually pretty comforting to know I'm friends with another Filipino."

"I know the feeling." And Grey really did. He would be teased about his old-Filipino accent  which took so long to hide. He was discriminated for having brown skin and most of all, he was considered dumb for not being able to adjust as quickly as possible.

But he found Midnight here, so that was good enough.

"I know." Midnight whispered her tone soothing. "It took so long for me to see a good side here. I miss the Philippines so much, all my friends, family, my whole life was there. So when I had to leave..." Grey heard her intake air. It almost felt like they were talking about something else. And Grey knew, but kept quiet.

"It was just..."

And he felt his heart break.

"I know." Was all he could say.
